I don't remember if they have explained it or not, but in the novels, it should have. It's a sort of custom or general implication where if a guy mercenary brings a girl on a ship, it implies sex and mistress type thing since they travel for a long time and whatnot. When he says he was taking in Mimi, everyone was giving him knowing looks but he is just confused. He finds out after he sleeps with her. He also kinda sidelines that when he takes in Elma. Then remembers later. For both he just ends up saying fuck it and just rolls with it though.

Demon King Shin Konton

So am I the only one who gets farscape/ guardians of the galaxy vibes from this isekai I mean both Jon Critten and Hiro arc Mcs who one day ended up in the deepest depths of space like a fish out of water And both Peter Quill and Hiro gets a space harem and are Space mercenaries

Shadowclonerex

Elma Is 53, Hiro is 27, Mimi is 15. Legal age of consent is 15 in that world.

SheepReaper

Holy hell, rare Farscape reference. Take my money.

SheepReaper

3 eps in, I'm very happy with the adaptation so far. The show knows exactly what it is, and it's all the better for it. Keep it up.

TheRPGhost

My god, they did the Spy Kids microwave but in Space anime form.

Esther Dickerson

Bro literally people-pleased his way into sex.. TWICE 😂 You’re like, dude, how many more times is that gonna happen? lol

Drift

They kind of mention it in the anime but in the books Elma’s ship is known to have a rampage feature. I believe it was the more you push it the harder it will be to control. That is also why Hiro is impressed she could even pilot it.

Noname Noface

When you see the amount of money the operator made was higher than the guild lady's salary, you have to take into account that when you review the number of ships destroyed, they must have taken down at least five times the amount of the second placed guy, and probably more than 10 times that of your average ship. It is only natural that the amount is so high when the base to calculate it from was already abnormally high.

Noname Noface

This show is like a well made hamburger that does not pretend it is caviar and I am in for the full course.

Basically, except it's worse. The ship was built for high speed and is pretty tough to steer, but not insanely bad normally. It does however have one critical bug. If a certain set of conditions are met, I don't remember which exactly but I think it involved pushing the engine too far speed-wise, what happens is that the ship, for lack of a better term, locks up on full throttle. Basically you can't brake, you can't even really steer except for the most minimal of degrees at best, there is nothing you can do as the ship just goes flying in basically a straight line until it either runs out of fuel or hits something. That's why it got the nickname White Meteor. Hiro was less impressed she could pilot it, and more baffled anyone would fly such a thing. He tried to be optimistic with Mimi and said that Elma was probably aware of this and knew how to avoid causing the Rampage. Tuns out she wasn't and she didn't. To be fair to Elma, she is genuinely good, she's a five year veteran as a merc, and she'd spent at least part if not all of that time with that ship and never had trouble. It's just that she was unknowingly rolling the dice every time she operated it, and that die she finally rolled Snake Eyes. Though that in its own way may have been a Nat20 given it ultimately got her a spot in Hiro's crew.

I'm not sure if it was this or end of last episode, but you could actually see a sideways bar-diagramm of how the mercs were doing in the small screen of the blonde noble. And yeah, the Krishna was leagues ahead of the next closest one.

I love the humor in collecting the harem members. "Oh goddammit, another one?! FINE, I'LL DO IT!" It reminds me of the Commander Shepard meme "We'll bang, okay?"

Chitinlord

Like the adaptation so far as someone who has read both the manga and LN's. Not sure how far they will get in 1 season but there is some wild shit ahead.

Chitinlord

I hope they show where the "real" meat comes from, or eventually explain the whole women being invited onto a man's ship culture. This series has lots of little crazy details that are interesting and sometimes wild.
