I can't gush enough about how insane the space battles look to the point that, again, unless I'm looking at maybe Gundam, not many compare to this style of dogfighting!

I think Hiro also has to pay for other things for the ship like: Shield cells (batteries that allow for quick recharge of shields during combat), general maintenance, waste disposal, replenishing the necessities and docking fees

for sure but given his current savings looks like not too crazy of expesnses given their payday which is good for him

I saw a comment on the site that I watch shows on that read "(time link) to skip past the space fight BS" they got clowned on pretty bad

I remember vaguely from reading the novels that the reason why the captain/ship owner gets the vast majority of the money is that he pays for the ship maintenance and upgrades, food, but most importantly those ship torpedoes cost more than space cars.

Hiro casually committing space warcrimes like a badass. Reminds me of canada.

I do not know if it was different in the novels, but it seems as is almost none of those ships shields tried to stop the incoming lasers. Maybe there was a reason they did not explain or they did not want to animate it. Nice episode.

I guess the reason it looks decent is because the series seems to be quite popular or at least a consistent fanbase. LN has 18 volumes, 12 of those are available as audiobooks and the manga has 61 chapters out with releases every 3 weeks. They probably had a good budget and production schedule. Also A-Cat is as far as i know specialized in CG production or rather they do a lot of it. And i will definitely listen to the audiobooks and continue reading the manga afterwards. Unless we get an immediate confirmation for season 2, either at the end or 1-2 weeks later.

I’m not really into space combat stuff but it did pretty well to keep me more engaged in spite of that!
