The song from CSI is "Who are You". Fantastic job JP! Loved your analysis of this epic album. I was a little too young it was released (9 years old) but I remember it. As I became a teenager, it was definitely in my collection. My first rock album I bought with my own money (in the 6th grade) was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath by Black Sabbath. I had a friend who had older brothers and sisters that let me borrow a few of their albums and they never got them back. Black Sabbath was my first intro to heavy rock (although I like all genres...well most). This is my first time listening you do an entire album. I think this was a great pick from your listeners.

That was fun Justin. Takes me back to the first time I heard this album, almost 50 years ago. It was introduced to me by an older, cooler cousin who called it the greatest album of all time. For a while I preferred Tommy, perhaps due to my love of the movie, but eventually this album won out. It never became my number one album, but it is definitely in my top 10.

What a great take on this classic album. I am always amazed when I watch reaction videos and learn that there are people who haven't heard these songs. I really feel blessed because the songs you all are reacting too are the soundtrack to my life. By the way Justin, there is a live version of this that was recorded about 4 month before Keith Moon died. https://youtu.be/UDfAdHBtK_Q?si=oJEQSQLr9KvpLqj1 If you don't want to watch the whole 9 minutes, at least skip to about the 7:30 mark to watch Keith and listen to the scream.

Water btw is another great song from lifehouse sessions (it's included in many compilations) and deserves a reaction!

I ain’t eatin nothin. By the way, Bargain may be my favorite Who song.

Hey, I'm with ya at the half way point and am not going away. I just finished my poor man's mocha: drip House Blend Starbucks with hot chocolate powder to add the sugar and fat. Yum! I'm enjoying all your comments and since I've never paid attention to the lyrics it's fun to get more insight. Thanks for sharing.

So many teen age memories listening to this LP... I had limited funds as a teenager and had to make a choice. Do I buy led Zeppelin or do I buy The who and I chose the who so I had so many more who albums than led Zeppelin and I listen to this one a lot...

JustJP

Ty Rich! I can guarantee theres at least a few more "big songs" that everyone knows that I don't lol. The fun part is finding them :D

Jeff Walker

I know you'll take a break, but when you're ready, I can't recommend "The Who Sell Out" enough. Always my favorite Who album, and a real FUN listen.

Dave K

I happen to have a yuengling black and tan because it's Friday evening and you are making my night start off so well. I spent so much time as this was the first two album I ever bought listening to these tunes so it's a trip down memory lane and I love your insights. As always, thanks so much for all you do! Added a nice 420 stick to the fine malt beverage...

richard graham

And I envy you for being able to listen to them for the first time. I will be happy to see the smile on your face when you do .

Brilliant album. Mandatory listening for any music fan. Pure and Easy is a separate stand alone song. Part of which tagged onto The Song is Over. Let's give Roger some credit. He's in full voice here. Currently not eating. Just sipping a coke.

Blitztim

Yes. It's really fun. I got it a few years ago and really liked it.

George Davis-Stewart

I have time for this album any time. For me it's one of the strongest sets by the band. As I recall, the arrangements of the music involved a lot of experimentation with a VCS synthesiser which was one of the very latest things to have in your recording studio.

Joan Bounacos

Can't wait until you hear Quadrophenia. Who's Next is awesome, especially Keith's drums. The did sound like they were having fun. A big suggestion if you haven't done it yet, try Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells a Story album. Every song is great! 👍 😃

Gene Harvey

So much fun to watch this. Loved it! BTW, I was smoking a cigar. Behind Blue Eyes b/w My Wife was the first 45 rpm record I ever bought when I was in Junior High.

George Davis-Stewart

I've never seen CSI but a search gave me two separate specimens of 'the CSI scream'. To me they are both lifted from 'Won't Get Fooled Again' (speaking as someone who started with the 45 edit of the song).

Your Music Mirrors Your Mind Song suggestion: Under a Raging Moon Band/Artist: Roger Daltrey Album: Under a Raging Moon A Keith Moon dedication. Roger's first solo effort.

that quiet moment on Baba is Pete singing.

Joel Pirard

They used a synthesizer to drive a lowrey organ percussive settings.

BDC

I had not listened to this album start to finish in many, many years. But when I was 19 I wore the grooves out of the LP. Thank you for bringing up a lot of memories from my younger days. Well done!

Maruad

I think the list of people not recommending the album would be shorter. I suspect you have heard at least 3 songs off this album. Possibly more.

David Rogers

This album, while made b/c Townsend had to put something out and the Lifehouse project failed, nonetheless is up there with Revolver and DSOTM. Don't ignore the lyrics, really beautiful.

DR G

Loved it, a top 5 album. After 30 years… I love Going Mobile

Q U A D R O P H E N I A

David Rogers

Oh, and yea Wont Get Fooled has been used in many many movies, commercials. Top Gun 2 used it

Joel Pirard

Baba and Won't Get Fooled Again were both used with CSI

Maruad

Two hours well spent.

Kristine Doggett

Happy to finally get to this one!Nice reaction to one of the best classic rock albums recorded. Every song is a good. My faves are Baba O'Riley, This Song Is Over and Behind Blue Eyes. A couple albums you should check out sometime are Aerosmith's GET YOUR WINGS and Blue Oyster Cult's BLUE OYSTER CULT. Just a couple more great 70s classic rock albums 😎

Elver Gobbi

Drinkin' a black tea, with a little bit of milk, no sugar. Há! Anyway... Some of the Aphrodite's Child's 666 is missing... i'm sad....

re: 'excepting one note': I'm pretty sure "Pure and Easy" is another Lifehouse cast-off, which for some reason didn't make the cut for Who's Next. The Who did record it, but my favorite version is from Pete Townshend's solo album Who Came First.

minkhollow

"And he just wants everybody to see the real me" - no no, that's Quadrophenia. XD

minkhollow

I do recall one video (quite a while back) where you said 'YEEEEEEEEEEEAH! You know, like CSI?' and I just sort of had a Moment. XD

Jori

Terry Riley's In C would also be a great long song for you to check!

ChasBeauregarde

You're absolutely correct on all accounts. You know your Townsend. Yeah, I like Townsend's solo better than The Who version too.

minkhollow

That would be my parents' doing - both albums were on heavy rotation during my childhood.

So Right Now I Just Went Through A Pint Of Strawberries With Nutella Justin! :)

Bob Delp

So Yeah Justin, The Who Were Huge On T.V With The ( C.S.I ) Shows : C.S.I, C.S.I Miami, C.S.I New York And The Songs Were Mainly : Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You :) Peace My Friend!

Reno faoro

I saw the Who in January 1975 in Des Moines iowa. Pete was pounding on a roadie's head while the poor kid was trying to swap guitars with him.

Reno faoro

I have Quadrophenia in 5.1 surround.

Chuck Drennen

I bought this album when it first came out and I still listen to it

Chuck Drennen

The who approached Director Stanley Kubrick about making Tommy into a movie he laughed at them. If you’ll notice on the album cover this large concrete block that represents the obelisk from the movie 2001. The band just Peed on it.

Chuck Drennen

CSI and all of the spin offs used Who songs as their opening themes.

Bob Delp

Heyyyyy!!! It's My Multipleth Time Watching You, You Like That Word Justin, I Just Made It Up Sitting Here! :) Be Well, All The Best!
