Hello my friends!

While working on upcoming map, I would like to ask you about your preference in subscription payment model on Patreon. 

I am considering switching from per creation to monthly payments with raising tiers to double the per creation rate (which would be as following: 1st tier - 2 EUR, 2nd tier - 6 EUR, 3rd tier - 10 EUR, 4th tier - 13 EUR per month). 

Therefore as an example: if you are on Adept Journalist model without any pledge limits, you would pay 2 EUR monthly instead of 3 EUR so far for 3 map releases.

I‘d like to gather your opinion first.

Do you prefer monthly or per creation subscription on supported Patreon creators?

Honestly, if I didn't have budget limits, I'd throw a lot more money your way 😉 I might need to cancel or reduce the subscription for another artist if you switch to monthly. But I'll definitely stay as one of your patrons.

2026-09-06 20:00 As Heiner said, I might need to adjust my tier based on how money is looking - which I admit would be a bit of a hassle. I enjoy being able to not download maps for a month then downloading as many as I can afford at a time.

Thank you for your opinion Heiner :) I appreciate that! It’s more of the matter of my maternity break, rather than earning differently. I may need to release only 2 maps monthly for few months and I want to be fair and clear to my supporters - plus it would be little less stressful too!

If I understand correctly, I can assure you nothing regarding downloading would change here :) There would still be access to previous maps and I would still release maps in few posts over month, only payment type would change - from 3x per creation gathered up over month paid on the 1st to one monthly rate as stated on tier, paid on 1st.

I love monthly because it is predictable. I can budget it and know between various Patreon creators how much I will be spending. It also probably helps you to know you have a consistent amount of income.

I'm happy with either. Congratulations on your child! I love your maps and I'm happy to support you in whatever way is easiest for you. I also use your maps as a rotating background on my computer with a few other mapmakers and always have people commenting on how beautiful your artwork is.

Totally understand that, and you should absolutely do whatever's right for you. If your other patrons love your work as much as I do, you won't lose anyone - some people just might need to adjust subscriptions. Especially those who limited how often they pay.

I prefer monthly, but not to the point that I would cancel if you stick with per creation. Like others have said, I just like the predictability of monthly prices.
