Dev Notes #13 — The “NSFW Update” (Patreon)

It’s been a little while since our last development update, so it’s time to give everyone a look at what we’ve been working on for the next update to Moving to the Freeuse World!

First things first: the next update will NOT include Day 3 in its entirety. Instead, this update is going to be very side-quest heavy, with a lot of new content focused on expanding the characters, world, and stories outside of the main Day 3 storyline.

And, as you’ll soon see, there’s quite a bit of adult content packed into this one. I’ve jokingly started calling it the “sex scene update.”

So, What About Day 3?

While Day 3 itself won’t be included in this update, we are going to introduce a small piece of it.

Since our Permanent Residency players voted for Lucy to receive the next sex scene in-game during the previous update, the team and I decided to add the morning section of Day 3, which features Lucy’s sex scene.

It’s a small preview of what’s to come, but we wanted to make sure the winning vote was represented in the next update.

Sylvia’s Intro Quest — Part 1

Sylvia’s intro quest is one of the larger side quests we’re working on, and due to the sheer number of assets required, only Part 1 will be included in the next update.

The first part takes place at the library exterior, where you’ll find a bus waiting for everyone attending the upcoming LARP event.

The bus ride will introduce two new characters:

Brianne, the knight

Fug, the orc

There’s plenty more to Sylvia’s quest planned for the future, but this will give you your first opportunity to get involved in her story.

Nurse Qingyu’s Intro Quest

Nurse Qingyu has one of the shorter side quests in the game, and as a result, we’re hoping to knock out her entire quest over the next few updates.

For now, her intro quest will be added to this update.

The MC will visit the Red Rock Medical Center for a free medical screening offered to Bacchus University students.

It’s a relatively short quest, but it gives us an opportunity to introduce Qingyu properly while expanding on the world and how medical services operate in Freeuse World.

Sierra & Mike

Sierra and Mike’s actual side quest won’t officially begin until Episode 2, but we felt it was important to introduce them now.

The reason for this is that their eventual side quest is heavily tied to the overarching plot and antagonists of Moving to the Freeuse World.

So while you won’t be starting their full storyline just yet, you’ll at least get to meet them and learn a little more about who they are.

In addition, the Mourningwood nightclub, where you meet Sierra & Mike, will include many NPC sex scenes.

Continuing Darla’s Quest

We’re also finally adding something I know some of you have been waiting for:

The milking mini-game!

Darla’s story will continue as we begin developing a relationship with Bessie, giving her route another layer of progression.

And because Seo-Jun won the most recent Permanent Residency sex scene vote, she’ll also receive an additional scene in this update.

The “Sex Scene Update”

Now for the part that probably explains the nickname.

At the moment, we have 12 animated sex scenes and 2 static sex scenes planned for this update.

And that’s not counting the additional steamy animations we have planned for Sylvia’s route.

So yes…

There’s a lot of sex in this update.

But despite the sheer amount of adult content, we’ve made some pretty significant progress across the board.

Current Asset Progress

Here’s where everything currently stands:

Backgrounds: All finished except for one

Sex scenes: All illustrated and animated except for one

Non-sex scene artwork: 100% complete

Writing: Approximately 90% complete

Animated sex scenes: 12 planned

Static sex scenes: 2 planned

That puts us in a pretty good position heading into the final stretch.

At this point, we're primarily focused on finishing that remaining artwork, wrapping up the writing, implementing everything into the game, and then putting the entire update through testing.

Release Target

Despite the amount of content packed into this update, we’re still aiming to release it in late October or early November at the very latest.

In fact, we’re currently looking at October 2nd or October 9th as potential dates for a private playtest.

We’ll likely hand the build over to a small group of carefully selected testers who are particularly good at finding things like bugs, performance issues, broken events, and other problems that can slip through during development.

The goal is to catch as many of those issues as possible before the public release and give ourselves the best possible shot at hitting that late-October target.

Introducing Nyx!

Finally, it’s time to introduce our newest community-created NPC:

Nyx the Tiefling!

Nyx is the culmination of our supporters’ votes to create an NPC specifically for Sylvia’s quest.

She’s a persuasive, charming, and sex-crazed sorceress LARPer who is more than capable of getting the MC into plenty of trouble.

And, naturally, she’s going to be making the MC cum a lot.

Nyx is another example of how much influence our Patreon supporters have over the development of Moving to the Freeuse World. From her appearance and personality to her role in Sylvia’s quest, she exists because of the choices our community made.

We’re really excited for you to finally meet her.

That’s all for Dev Notes #13!

The next update is shaping up to be one of our most content-heavy updates yet, even without a full Day 3.

There’s a lot of side-quest content, new characters, new lore, new gameplay, and—apparently—an absolutely unreasonable amount of sex.

We’re getting very close now, and we’ll have more updates as we move into testing and the final stages of development.
