We're still working on several things at once, but work on the 3D model of the lurker leviathan has started! This is NOT made by our own 3D artists, but instead by Fox3D! Yes, you read that right! We commissioned the artists that originally worked on Subnautica! While this is extremely expensive, I think it'll be worth it for 1-2 hero assets of the mod! This model is obviously still work-in-progress, but I think it already looks awesome!Let us know what you think :)

Will you release it with the creatures damage base mod?

Aci

What mod are you referring to? We're working only on Call of the Void atm

Forgot to comment directly on this but just wanted to comment that I'm really excited to see the interactions. This is definitely one of those Leviathans that will only improve with each update or little quirk you guys add.

It’s really cool looking.

The tail spike looks dangerous. Maybe that’s how it’ll attack? It has hands. Maybe it uses them to cling to the seabed? Maybe it’s an ambush predator, (it is called the lurker.). If it clings to the seabed then maybe when you get to close it curves it’s tail up to stab you, or it grabs you with its hands and repeatedly stabs you with the tail? Those fins look ray like. It probably moves them in a wave like motion to move. Its tongue is large, I imagine it can’t fit a vehicle in it’s mouth. If it ambushes you it could have chameleon like camouflage. But as a deep sea predator it would require tremendous amounts of food energy it just wouldn’t have access too to do that, so it’s probably sand or rock colored. Or it could be dark blue or gray. But most organisms on 4546B have bioluminescent patterns on them, so maybe it uses bioluminescence to attract prey, like an anglerfish? That could be what the whip like appendages on it’s head are for. Just speculation.

Just noticed it’s not a tongue, it’s mouth splits. My bad. With that in mind, and how big its throat is, it could probably swallow the Seamoth. I also noticed several more protrusions on the head, some ending in spheres. The spheres are most likely bioluminescent. The whips on the head could be used as a form of attack like the River Prowler. With the addition of currents the Lurker would most likely be able to angle it’s wing like arms for better maneuverability, making it extremely fast and able to turn quickly. This seems like one deadly predator.

Physiology really does tell us a lot about an animal.

Maybe the first time you encounter it the PDA could say, “Attention, unidentified leviathan-class organism detected in the vicinity. Continuing to monitor.”. And then you get a data entry with a blurry image of the Lurker that labels it as a low threat, causing you to let down your guard. Maybe you could detect it early with a scanner room too. So if you have a scanner room built the first time you bring your new friend home you get an extra warning, like it showing up a few times on your HUD and your PDA saying, “Scanner room malfunction, please return to base immediately for repairs.”.
