Hey there, I'm Aci and welcome to 8 random facts about Among Us!

I would've liked to make it an even 10 or maybe even 15, but I just couldn't find any other facts that would at least be somewhat interesting about the game

First, let's start all the way back in 2018. Why 2018? Well, that's when the game was released.

Yes, it's been out for over two years now, and it just started gaining popularity! Back then, it only had vers few downloads and only a team of three developers working on it

Well then, how did it get so popular?

Simple. Streamers. When a few big streamers started picking up on the game, people noticed that it's fun to play AND fun to watch

That combination is what made Among Us so popular, and with more and more people featuring it in streams and videos, it just continued to grow

By now it has been downloaded almost 300 million times across all devices! 300 MILLION!

To be fair, over 200 million of those came from the mobile version, which by the way is free!

Yes, you can play among us for free if you get it on your phone! And you can even play with people on PC via crossplay!

After the game became so popular, Innersloth, the company that published the game, announced that they would be making a second part.

But just a little while ago they scrapped that idea again and said they would now instead focus on making the first game better and adding all the new content

to among us 1

So hey, free upgrades!

The game used to have a different name before they came up with Among Us: Space Mafia! This is probably inspired by the game Mafia or maybe Werewolf,

which are popular party games in which you have to find out who the criminals, werewolves or impostors are xD

You can do your tasks through walls! Sadly, not all the way through a solid wall, but if you're near a corner, like in Storage or Security, it definetly works!

So if you're afraid to go around a corner in case the impostor is waiting for you, just do it like this

As you can see, i can do this without any problems, close it again, open again, easy.

There used to be a bug that caused an impostor to completely vanish for the rest of the game.

If they vented JUST as someone was reporting a body, they'd just be completely gone for the rest of the round'

Now some friends and me tried to do this, but we couldn't get it to work, so it was probably patched at some point.

And last but not least, some Henry Stickmin easter eggs! References to games like Breaking the Bank, Escaping the Prison, Stealing the diamond and so on, are all over the place xD

Of course there are the two pets Henry and Ellie, but there's way more! You for example have a tophat clan reference as an equippable item for your head - fancy

or multiple items from the games hidden in the trash that you empty in specific tasks

For example the teleportation device and the diamond!
