Quick new script! (3rd Subnautica game?) (Patreon)
Content
HEY there, I'm Aci and after Below Zero lots of you have been wondering if there will be a Subnautica: Part III.
So today I'm making a short video to answer that question.
In case you don't like details, here's the answer... maybe XD
Hear me out xD
First, - Below Zero Spoilers - Below Zero had a VERY open ending with Robin and Al-An leaving Planet 4546b and travelling to the Architect Homeworld.
When we arrive, we see a bunch of really cool buildings and technology all over, but we don't get any indicator if any other Architects are still alive
So, pretty big cliffhanger xD
Obviously there's a lot of potential left in the Subnautica franchise. You could have Subnautica Part 3 take place on the Architect Homeworld, where you have to rescue all other architects from Sanctuaries, or protect them from Alterra,
you could play on an Alterra Ship or space station as an alterra employee or something similar to what they first wanted to do with Below Zero, you could make it a prequel where you play as the degasi that first crahed on the planet,
or maybe even just do a few expansions for the base game with more biomes, tech, creatures, story, whatever
However! In a press conference just before Below Zero came out, the Devs have said that they're working on a game that ISNT related to Subnautica at the moment.
So a lot of resources are already going towards that project. The Subnautica team after release of Below Zero is a lot smaller than before since a lot of the devs have moved to other project like this one.
There are still some devs working on bugs, mod support and so on, but not nearly as many as before.
They have also said they're not currently working on any new IP in the Subnautica franchise.
Does this mean we won't get a new Subnautica game? No. But it means we won't get a new Subnautica game or DLC in the near future!
Personally, I think it's very likely that we will get some sort of new Subnautica content eventually, but not any time soon.
The devs are working on different new projects and I think that's a great idea, and it also gets the hype up for any new potential Subnautica games :P
If you'd like to support me, I have a patreon link in the description, and - talking about patreon -

Gooooooood BYEEEEEEEEE!
