Hello! The Rise of the Winter Wolf book 7 has been getting nothing but toxic and troll reviews so far on Amazon with no good reviews at all except one despite the high average rating, with a couple of them complaining about the summaries at the start of the books.

I started doing the book summaries because readers asked for them in reviews and in chapters. But I decided to do this poll about it due to this complaint.

Do you like the book summaries or do you dislike them?

I'll also add in an 'I don't care' answer.

It's good when you had a longer time between books, but in the end if it bothers you, you could skip it. So I guess I don't know why they complain about it

I’m between [I don’t care] and [Like], Reading as chapter are release makes me want the summaries, while not caring about it if for example I started reading Winter Wolf now.

Personally, I often go past them but they don’t detract from the books at all, the table of contents exists to let you jump to chapters for a reason. Secondly, sometimes I’ll get really invested in a series but then fizzle out, only to come back to the series later when other content I engage with dries up. In that situation, a catch me up where I can recap with out having to ‘restart’ the series is a godsend for continuity, especially with longer publications

Robert Vick

Yeah I really don't see why people would complain if they can just skip it.

I don’t care much. When I read a story once I can remember the gist of it for years. Not every detail but most stuff that you find in summaries. But for people who can’t remember the parts a summary is still important I guess. So I am rather for keeping it, than abandoning it.

For me it is a take or leave topic... depending on how lang ago the last book is gone. I prefer the summary of the last book only... don't like having half a book of summary.

I sometimes drop series for a couple of years, so I love them!

Sorry I don't know, I haven't read this book yet. But good luck ✍️

I like them when I have been away from a story for a while, but if I've been binging a series, I ignore them them as I move through the books. It's not that I hate them or anything, I just don't need them during a binge. Some people just need to complain, and apparently having to scroll through a couple extra pages of text is too much of a pain.

ChaosOmega98

I read them for a refresher if take a break for a month or 2

Jalil Hayes

I read them just refamilarize myself with the current state of things especially if it's been awhile since ive read the story

To be honest when I find myself interested in a series I usually binge read. That said, if a lot of time has transpired between releases, I like to go back and re-read the preceding book if I've forgotten too much of the storyline.
