A planet on the Outskirts of the Aquatic Federation
Revalia lets out a loud roar as she swims through the ocean to stab straight at the Molten Dynasty soldiers one after another. Clearing out entire swathes of them with each attack.
Each of her attacks cleaves straight through the ocean, filling it with the blood of the enemy soldiers. But no matter how many times she attacks, their forces never seem to run dry. And since the Molten Dynasty’s citizens are also human subspecies capable of living without breathing through their mouths, the water doesn’t do anything to interfere with them. Beyond making their trademark fire and magma magic significantly less effective.
But the sheer number of the Molten Dynasty’s soldier count is enough to shake their advantage on its own. Because, unlike the aquaron subspecies from the Aquatic Federation, the moltinian subspecies has another special subspecies trait.
Their reproductive rate is multiple times that of a regular human.
It’s one of the main reasons the Aquatic Federation has always been at war with the Molten Dynasty. Their reproductive rate leads to overpopulation of their planets, which leads the already short-tempered moltinians to declaring war to take planets from the Aquatic Federation.
Revalia continues to cleave through the enemy soldiers, but the soldiers keep coming in a seemingly endless wave. Gradually beginning to whittle down Revalia’s forces in the process.
But something strange happens not long after the battle begins to turn in the Molten Dynasty’s favor.
Death energy begins to spread through the ocean around them, with some sort of strange floating palace beginning to form all around them. Albeit one still underwater.
Revalia doesn’t take long to figure out what’s happening. She’s not stupid after all.
She’s heard about the Horseman of Death’s Court before. And she has also heard about the Horseman continuing her mercenary activities.
And her thoughts are confirmed when she sees rifts to the Plane of Death appearing all over the courtyard, following which Death Spirits flood out of them.
The various Death Spirits are of different kinds. There are skeletons in robes, robed spirits with nothing but glowing crimson energy visible underneath their cowls, and various others as well.
But all of the Death Spirits look far more intimidating than Revalia has seen on the internet simply because they’re deep underwater.
Revalia soon gets a call from their headquarters about the new reinforcements.
A bit late for a notice…
Not that she’s complaining as she quickly begins to slaughter the enemy soldiers alongside the Death Spirits. And she’s not the only one who feels her morale rising. All the other soldiers on the Aquatic Federation’s side quickly grow significantly more motivated while increasing the rate of their attacks.
On the other hand, the Molten Dynasty’s soldiers begin to show despair. With quite a few of them already trying to surrender.
But the Death Spirits don’t listen to surrender attempts from the living.
The battle continues for several minutes before finally beginning to draw to a close. And right as they’re about to finish off the commander of the enemy forces, Revalia sees a rather bizarre sight out the balcony of the Death Court.
A woman who Revalia easily recognizes as the Horseman of Death – both from the black number above her head and the internet – is just calmly floating through the water outside of the balcony. She’s wearing a two-piece swimsuit similar to a crop top and shorts, with a military jacket on over it. And she has a little cat swimming in circles around her that is being chased by a man Revalia recognizes as the Horseman of War.
With the Horseman of Death just ignoring their game of chase and quietly humming to herself with headphones on her head.
Is she… listening to music? In a battle…?
Revalia stares at her for a few seconds before shaking her head and focusing on the commander of the enemy forces.
Because she’s seen the guides on the internet about how to deal with the Horseman of Death, Aria Crimson. And she’s seen how all of them state to just ignore all of her shenanigans. To not be surprised by her.
So Revalia proceeds to ignore the ridiculous antics of the Horsemen. Albeit while occasionally glancing at them, simply because she can’t help it.

Aria
I never realized how comfortable it is to just float in the ocean and let the currents carry me wherever. Because it is very comfortable.
Especially when I let the Death Spirits handle the battle while I relax and listen to music.
Although, the two troublemakers swimming around me are slightly annoying. And I can’t help but wonder just how long the two are going to mess around.
They’ve been playing this little game of tag for months now. Don’t they ever get bored?
Then again, Lucius is the Horseman of War, and he’s been alive for millions of years. So maybe he just doesn’t get bored of things quickly.
Time already passes by quickly for me, and I’ve only been alive for centuries. Much less millions of years.
Anyway, I continue floating in the water for a while before receiving word that the enemies are dealt with. At which point I open my eyes, reach out to grab Asher, and begin swimming over towards the enemies. Dismissing the Death’s Court as I do so now that the battle is over.
And after it disappears, I see an army of thousands of aquarons with dozens of surviving moltinians bound in the middle of them. Captured alive from the enemy army.
During my approach with the very happy Asher in my arms, I go ahead and look at the levels of the various enemy soldiers.
But none of them are particularly powerful. With each one of them being lower level than me except for a few.
Of course, all of their level numbers are green. Without a single one posing any sort of threat to me.
As for their commanders? Some of them I can’t see the levels of. Including their leader who is currently approaching me.
To my surprise, War suddenly looks serious for a moment before saying that he’ll be back soon. Then he opens a gate and leaves. But I don’t really care about his plans, so I ignore him as I focus on the Aquatic Federation commander.
“Thank you for your assistance, Lady Death,” the commander declares with a nod of her head as she floats in front of me. “My name is Revalia Detral, and I am the Tenth Commander of the Federation Army.”
“Sure,” I answer while putting my hands in my jacket pockets and focusing more on the messages about advancement of my purpose than her words.
Because there are quite a few messages that have passed through during my time listening to music and floating.

These Molten Dynasty forces sure have a lot of soldiers. Which is another one of the reasons I chose to fight on the Aquatic Federation’s side. Because fighting these guys will advance my purpose quite a bit.
What’s more is that I’m getting advancement in my purpose from both sides dying in this. Not just the enemy, but the Aquatic Federation forces too.
Thanks to my Death’s Court.
After a moment, I turn my attention back to the commander, who is waiting patiently for me, before telling them that I’m going to head to the next battlefield now. And without any hesitation, I leave in the direction of the next battlefield.
With a certain immortal cat in my arms purring rather happily now that Lucius is gone.
Time to get more progress towards leveling up.
