Yeah, this isn’t going well. Not well at all.

I take a deep breath before letting it out. Then the third part of my very last trial attempt begins.

The last couple attempts since figuring out how to spot the Quantum Balancer turned out to be rather pitiful overall. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t isolate and attack the Quantum Balancer more than a few times. And I couldn’t get him to stay in one place either before he would switch to a different body and I’d lose him again.

So the hint I found didn’t really help.

Which leaves me with only one course for survival left

Wipe everything out.

Without hesitation, the moment I arrive in the third part of the trial and the bodies all appear from the rifts, I let out all of the energy absorbed by Observation Effect Absorption. Immediately sending out a massive shockwave of power that annihilates everything around me in a massive blast.

This is the very first time I’m using the skill’s release like this. In a powerful and spread out blast instead of a concentrated single target attack.

Every time I’ve used it before, I was fighting a single opponent that I knew the exact location of. So a single strike was all I needed.

But this time is different.

And a faint smile spreads across my face in satisfaction at seeing the millions of bodies the Quantum Balancer has been jumping between all getting vaporized in seconds. Leaving just a single body behind with numerous quantum burns across his body where he’s glitching out.

 If it weren’t a waste to use it before, I would’ve done this in a previous trial attempt. But I can only use it when I have energy built up through the skill. And it’s most effective if I use it at the very end, after gathering up energy from every trial attempt.

For the first time in a very long time, I feel genuine satisfaction at the sound of a scream. At the sound of the Quantum Balancer screaming in pain while glaring at me.

Because he has pissed me the hell off in this trial.

To top it off, I don’t even wait for him to recover from the damage. I just rush straight at him and unleash Quantum Rip’s and Quantum Vampirism’s built up energy all in a single blow with my scythe. And that’s after gathering up quantum lightning.

I slam it all directly into him, making reality all around us shatter as glitchy holes fill space near us and the Quantum Balancer’s scream goes up a couple octaves.

In fact, the aftermath of my strike is so powerful that I’m forced to teleport back otherwise I’d get hurt myself.

After a brief pause, I go ahead and begin sending bolts of quantum lightning into the enormous blast just to attack him more out of sheer anger. All the way until the explosive quantum lightning and the rest of the energy finally begins to clear, leaving a hole in reality where everything is glitching.

And the body the Quantum Balancer was in is completely torn to shreds, leaving behind just a damaged soul in its place.

A damaged soul that soon reforms a body that I recognize as the Quantum Balancer’s own body.

But despite forming this body from scratch, it’s full of wounds already. And he looks thoroughly pissed off. Just like me.

Most importantly, the indifferent arrogance he was showing before is completely gone. Without even a single trace left behind.

It is very satisfying to see.

What isn’t satisfying, however, is the fact that he still has plenty of energy left in his soul. Meaning this battle is far from over.

All I’ve done with that is significantly even the playing field.

The bright side is that I still have plenty of energy resets. Even if I’d rather keep some of them for later trials.

But none of the trials should be as annoying as this one, so it’s fine if I use a bit more on this one than the next ones.

That said, I should still keep a large number of them ready to use against the Quantum Ruler’s trial. Since that one will most likely be the most difficult trial of them all in terms of his sheer power.

The Quantum Balancer is a trickster and doesn’t fight fair is the reason his trial is so difficult. Not his own personal power.

Now it’s a fair fight, though.

And, in all honesty, I can still use up the rest of my energy restoration charges for the year. Simply because I can just wait a year before challenging the next trial if I use them all up here.

Yes, I need to get stronger to deal with the rising corruption threat. But that’s a separate issue from these trials, which are mostly to prepare me to face the Quantum Beings if I need to.

The biggest benefit of doing these trials is both learning how to fight each Quantum Being, and gaining a powerful resistance to their variant quantum energy.

Clearing a Quantum Being’s trial should make it significantly easier to fight them outside of the trial. And while I might get a benefit for completing all of the trials and therefore my True Form itself, most of these benefits are just for in case the Quantum Beings start terrorizing the universe and need to be put down.

So there’s no real need to hold back if I end up in a situation where I can’t hold back.

With that thought in mind, and the sight of the Quantum Balancer in front of me showing a rather poor condition, I can’t help but smirk. Which only serves to piss off the Quantum Balancer even more as the currents and very air around us begin to tremble with his anger.

Putting everything else aside, this trial attempt has been very satisfying compared to the previous attempts at it.

Very satisfying indeed.
