As usual with epilogues, this chapter is much shorter than the usual chapter. A lot shorter at that.

It's also the last chapter of book 2. So yay.

Book 3 will start with the usual glossary and Q&A Post next week.

Deep Within the Abyss

For the first time in thousands of years, the waters of the Abyss begin to writhe. All of the currents tremble and change, and the once quiet parts of the Abyss grow turbulent. Including the entrance of the Abyss.

But before any of the Alliance’s researchers located outside of the Abyss can try to learn what’s going on, the turbulence grows so great that some of the Abyssal water splashes out of the Abyss. Then the Abyss itself grows ever so slightly. Expanding to cover more of the universe at a very slow rate.

The moment this is noted by the researchers, emergency signals are sent up to every corner of the Alliance in warning. Meanwhile numerous Bloodliners make their way over towards the Abyss’ entrance.

But no one knows why the Abyss is suddenly expanding. Nor why its waters suddenly became turbulent.

Meanwhile, somewhere outside of the Alliance’s domain, a single creature opens its eyes after eating a chunk of a large planet post-migration. This creature is now the size of an entire planet and has the form of an enormous butterfly with razor sharp fangs in its mouth instead of a proboscis. And seconds after the creature’s migration much closer to the borders of the Alliance, another change happens within the depths of the Abyss.

One of the Ancient Monsters kept imprisoned in the Abyss begins to writhe as if in pain. All while deep bluish black veins spread across the enormous planet-sized Phoenix’s body. Gradually transforming it into an Abyssal Beast. Changing the color of the flames writhing around its body from a deep crimson to a deep bluish black. And when its eyes open, they shine with both crimson and pale blue light intertwined together as the tentacles previously binding the Ancient Monster release.

Then the newly transformed Abyssal Beast lets out a loud screech and flies straight through the Abyss, crossing it in mere minutes before exiting it and blowing every last thing far away the moment it exits the Abyss. But, despite the terror shown at its appearance from the humans outside, the Abyssal Beast completely ignores them.

As it rushes directly towards the newly evolved Ancient Monster that has now crossed into the range of its Ruler’s senses.

At first, emergency alarms begin to echo all across the Alliance as planets go on the defense. Trying to be as prepared as possible to defend against a newly discovered Ancient Monster-level threat.

Only for all of their defenses to go to waste when the Phoenix completely ignores them all and eventually leaves the territory of the Alliance. Confusing the upper brass of the Alliance and the Bloodliners.

Soon after this strange event, nearly all of the aquatic Bloodliners of sufficient level capable of entering the Abyss immediately move to enter. All with the intent of investigating the cause of these strange changes within the Abyss.

However, deep within the Abyss, a single pair of glowing pale blue eyes that were previously locked in the direction of the Ancient Monster that has wandered into its senses slowly close as they once again slumber.

Completely unaware of the chaos it just caused.
