Alexia

The first part of the wedding, the public part, continue for several hours. With different events including ballroom dances and banquets. All of which the visiting dignitaries discuss business and form partnerships in.

And eventually, the public part of the wedding comes to a close. After which everyone goes home for the night. Or to their specific inns, if their home is too far away.

Then the second part of the wedding comes over the course of the next few days. The private part where only family and friends are invited.

This part also starts with a wedding reception. With an opening speech and all of that.

It’s just that the opening speech this time involves family and friends chatting in and joining the speech, with plenty of people wearing their regular outfits instead of anything formal.

Some people are even here in full armor. Claiming that it’s their regular outfit.

Then again, I’m not one to talk. Considering I’m here in my armor too.

Still. I’m not all that talkative, so I don’t actually say much during the second part of the reception. Which is taking place in a much smaller mansion’s garden instead of that grand and fancy place.

It’s also in Dimensional Block #1, and not in Dimensional Block #108. At Dad’s private mansion.

Although I can’t help but notice that Dad has been staring at Ethan for quite a while now. With his eyes narrowed no less. As if he’s trying to size him up.

Which is more than a little amusing to watch.

It makes sense in a way. After all, one of the twins he didn’t know he had for most of our lives and only learned about some years ago, closer to the start of the System Reset, is already getting married. And to a dragon he has only seen a few times no less.

Dad must have quite a few experiences with dragons over the years. He wasn’t Class S before the Reset, after all.

So the dragons must not have treated him very well. Even if he likely eventually proved himself to them with his magic immunity.

Anyway, putting him aside, Astrid and Ethan look like they’re having fun. And that’s all that matters.

After the wedding reception, a party begins. One with food, drinks, and even games all around. Then it’s followed up by a beach party, where we all go to the beach on Dad’s island. With everyone changing into swimsuits. Or almost everyone.

I change into a two piece which is more like shorts and a crop top than a swimsuit. With a jacket on over it. But it counts and satisfies Astrid, who set the dress code, so it’s fine.

The sight of Astrid and Ethan messing around in the water is heartwarming to see as I lie down on a lawn chair with an umbrella above me. Especially after all of the trouble I’ve had to deal with as of late.

The Quantum Balancer and Quantum Enforcer to be specific.

Both of them were major pains in the ass.

Still. I’m not done yet.

I have four more Quantum Beings to defeat in the trials to complete my True Form.

The Quantum Creator, Quantum Vanguard, Quantum Builder, and the Quantum Ruler.

At my current power level, the Quantum Builder and Quantum Creator shouldn’t be major issues. Not anymore.

Especially now that I’ve devoured the powers of the Quantum Judge and Quantum Balancer.

That said, I should take some time to absorb and learn their powers before I try the next trials. Especially the Quantum Vanguard and Quantum Ruler’s trials.

The Quantum Vanguard is the biggest fighter of the Quantum Beings, with his entire role being to fight on the frontlines. Which makes him a tough opponent to defeat.

And the Quantum Ruler is the most balanced of the Quantum Beings, with the most power on top of that. And while the version of himself out in the universe is mentally broken, the version of him in the trial is most likely still at full strength and with a sound mind.

So if I go in to fight those two without a plan or without knowing everything I can do, then I’m probably going to lose.

Of course, the Quantum Vanguard won’t have as many annoying powers as some of the previous Quantum Beings I’ve fought had. Like the Quantum Judge’s execution strikes.

What with him being purely combat focused. Like a warrior.

But he makes up for that in pure power and skill.

Still. My next target, regardless of the Vanguard and Ruler’s difficulty, is going to be either the Quantum Builder or the Quantum Creator.

Both of them are non-combat Quantum Beings. And both of them will be annoying with their powers, but not particularly powerful.

I stare off at the sky from under the umbrella, just sipping on some wine as I try to plan my next steps. Specifically, leveling up more by fighting the corrupted ones. Probably devour some of the Corruptors to get new powers. And then eventually go back to the trial tower to continue clearing the trials and finishing my True Form.

It’s nice not being in a rush for a change. But I do still have to make sure I get everything done before the Corrupted One returns.

I suddenly feel someone grabbing my hand and tugging me to my feet, making me look down from the sky to see Astrid smiling at me while pulling me along and saying, “You came here to relax, so stop thinking about things like that!”

A faint smile spreads across my face before I teleport the glass of wine back to the table and follow Astrid into the water.

She’s right.

I came here for her celebration and to relax and unwind.

Thinking about my next plans isn’t exactly relaxing or unwinding. If anything, it’s the opposite.

So I stop thinking about all of that and focus entirely on relaxing and enjoying my time here with my sister and her groom.

Tuning out everything else in the process.
