Aria

The battle between the two Grands rage on, causing immense damage to their surroundings. So much damage that the entire galaxy around us is being turned into a wasteland. One filled with the debris of different planets and astral objects. Not to mention all of the infrastructure that used to be on said planets.

If it weren’t for the advanced evacuation of the planets, I wouldn’t be surprised if trillions of people might have died.

There’s just that much damage.

On top of that, some stars have exploded and imploded during all of this, creating new black holes. So this entire galaxy is pretty much turning into a disaster zone no one should ever enter.

What’s worse is that Pestilence has spread so much pestilence throughout the galaxy that it is literally just a death zone. Anyone who enters it will die in seconds from the plagues, viruses, diseases, and poisons spread through space itself.

As far as the eye can see, there’s just a sickly green mist mixed with different types of mists, liquids, and all sorts of other contaminants.

With scars from sword strikes all over the place as well. All from War’s blade.

It’s quite a sight to behold, to say the least.

Of course, I’m still sitting on a lawn chair in space watching it while sipping wine.

But the news all across the universe is going absolutely wild about this. And they’re warning any civilians in the nearby galaxies to evacuate as well. Since the battle could easily move over to them, causing further destruction.

The other Grands have all dipped too. Leaving the galaxy to keep an eye on it from afar.

What’s ironic about this is that the situation likely helps them in the long-run. Since the two Horsemen they want to eliminate are fighting each other.

All they have to do is sweep in at the end to finish one off if they’re close enough to dead.

Not that I can see War letting that happen. He probably wants to finish off Pestilence to get a skill from him and finish his duel.

While Pestilence just wants War dead.

Either way, they started their duel, so there’s no possible way for it to end without one of their deaths. That’s just how War’s skill works.

And I’ll be here watching the entire way through.

Not just to snatch the soul core of whoever dies, of course. Although I’ll be doing that as well while I’m here.

Famine’s soul core is still working wonders for me to this day, after all. It’s my main source of death and soul energy.

I place my wine glass on the table floating next to me within this little gravity anomaly space made through an item before lying back on the lawn chair with my hands behind my head. Just imagining the day in the future where I’ll be strong enough to fight on this scale myself.

Anyway, putting that dream of the future aside, the two Horsemen are certainly doing far more damage to each other than the Grands did to Pestilence. And at a much faster speed too.

The scale of their battle alone is greater than anything I’ve ever seen before.

It’s just incredible.

Putting that aside, though, I have something more important to do right now. So I go ahead and open my terminal before making a call to the person whose contact War gave me earlier.

While these idiots are fighting, I have an important recliner to order.

Somewhere on Eternus

“Yes,” Yuki says with a nod of her head after receiving a call from the department responsible for accepting custom commissions at their company. “A top quality black and crimson recliner. I’ve got it.”

She continues listening to the representative on the other side of the call for a few seconds before answering, “Yes, understood. Yes. Ye- wait, what?”

Yuki blinks before staring at the terminal.

“Excuse me, would you repeat what you just said?” Yuki asks as politely as possible.

“Yes,” the representative answers. “The customer wishes for a custom recliner that works in any environment, similar to the one that was previously commissioned to the Horseman of War. However, this one also wishes to add several custom enchantments to it including one that will transfer any and all damage the recliner may take to her so that the recliner will always remain in pristine condition.”

Yuki stares blankly at the terminal screen.

So I wasn’t imagining it… that’s actually what the request is? Who would ever commission something like that?

“The customer has specified that they want any and all types of damage to be redirected from the recliner to her person, no matter how destructive the force causing the damage may be,” the representative says, sounding mildly confused herself.

“Just what is she planning on using this recliner for anyway…?” Yuki ends up muttering, half forgetting she’s on a call.

“The customer states she wishes to use the recliner to watch a large-scale battle in space,” the representative continues, sounding a little dumbfounded now instead of confused. “So she would also like various propulsion or gravitational systems on the recliner to allow easy movement in space for whoever is on the recliner. And she would like spatial compartments to store wine, along with a holographic TV to watch movies, shows, and other streaming services on, or to read on while she’s on the recliner.”

Yuki feels a small part of her common sense beginning to break as she imagines all of these features.

“Wait, what about oxygen? And a pressure stabilizer?” Yuki asks questions she never thought she’d be asking in her entire life.

Because who needs an oxygen device or a pressure stabilizer on a recliner?

“The customer says she has no need for such things,” the representative answers. “Please be aware that this customer is one recommended by the Horseman of War, Lucius Octavio. So be very careful about the construction of the recliner, and make sure to triple check every requirement listed by the customer. I will send you a longer version of the requirements in a document soon.”

“U-understood,” Yuki stutters while responding.

A recommendation from War? That’s never happened before…

Yuki subconsciously turns her gaze towards the screen playing next to her where she sees that very War fighting against Pestilence and ruining an entire galaxy in the process. Then she turns her gaze back to her terminal when she feels it vibrating from receiving a message.

And when she opens the message, she can’t help but feel dumbfounded by the different requirements.

Cupholders, thought activated positioning settings, and self-regenerating material, I understand. But why does she need sustainability in any environment, an enchantment for all damage taken by the recliner to be sent to her, and all of these other features? She said she was watching a large-scale battle in space, but how does she…

Yuki’s thoughts come to a grinding halt at that sentence.

Watching a large-scale battle in space.

She turns her attention back to the live footage of the battle between War and Pestilence. But she doesn’t look at either Horsemen on it.

No. She looks at the woman lazily lying on a lawn chair in the middle of space watching their battle.

“Who exactly is the customer this time?” Yuki asks over the call without taking her gaze from the yawning Horseman of Death on the live footage.

“Let me ask,” the representative states, his voice returning to the usual calm voice he normally speaks with. Seemingly not knowing and likely just trusting the recommendation from War.

Or just fearing War’s wrath if the company didn’t accept the recommendation.

Then, after several minutes, the representative returns while immediately stating, “Make sure you do not make any mistakes. Use as many resources as you need to make this recliner the best one our company has ever produced, even if you have to go over the price of the recliner itself. This is an order from the top, do you understand?”

A chill runs down Yuki’s spine at those words.

“Then you mean…” she starts while trembling and still staring at the live footage.

“Yes,” the representative answers. “The customer is the Horseman of Death, Aria Crimson. She is also the Princess of the Crimson Empire, who is a major investor in our company.”

Yuki gulps before stating, “U-understood. I will begin work immediately.”

Then the call cuts off, leaving her in the silence of her workshop. With the only sound being that of the live footage of the battle between War and Pestilence, where her latest customer can be seen lying on a lawn chair in space.

At least I understand why she wants something like this now…

After that thought makes its way into her head, she immediately gets to work making the ridiculous recliner.
