Outside of the Galaxy War and Pestilence are Fighting in
Shirogane feels uncertain as he watches the two Horsemen battle it out. Especially because War hasn’t used even a single War Spirit, and yet he’s already this powerful.
A part of Shirogane wanted the Grands to join the battle to fight Pestilence alongside War. But War’s skill doesn’t allow interference.
If someone tries to move up and interfere with the battle in any way after the duel begins, they are sent far away automatically.
Because the duel is supposed to be a one on one duel. Which is also why War isn’t able to use any of his War Spirits in the duel against Pestilence.
And yet, War is still clearly on the winning side of this conflict. Even without Pestilence’s injuries.
Of course, War himself has plenty of injuries and plagues building up within him as well, so he isn’t anywhere near unscathed by this either.
The mere fact that War is already able to do this much harm to Pestilence, when the Grands were only able to do less than this while relying on tricks is a little…
Shirogane wants to think that it’s embarrassing, but he stops himself. Because the Horsemen of the Apocalypse have that title for a reason.
The only one amongst the Horsemen who isn’t overwhelmingly powerful is the Horseman of Death, who is young in comparison and still growing. Yet even she is incredibly powerful at her current level.
Shirogane still remembers the report he got once some years back during her journeys. When she was targeted by a royal who didn’t realize who she was thanks to their planet’s complete seclusion from all internet and news originating from outside of their planet.
They were all significantly higher level than her, and yet, she still slaughtered over half an army sent to attack and capture her while she was on their planet.
And all she did was summon forth the energy of the Plane of Death before letting it run wild. Slaughtering them while also bringing forth numerous Death Spirits that joined in the massacre.
That was one of the very few times in recent years Shirogane has ever seen Aria even mildly upset in any serious way. And he only saw the end of it when he arrived to help mediate.
Although he heard that apparently she got angry at Pestilence for ruining her wine when his Spirits spread the plagues throughout the universe. But he didn’t see that one himself.
Ever since the incident on that planet, Shirogane’s found that Aria does more research on the planets she travels to. Making sure that, if the planet is cut off from other planets in news and information, they at least have a decent leadership that won’t cause trouble.
But that incident alone proved to the universe that she can still bring immense pain to those who face her, even at her current level. All through the use of the Plane of Death.
So the Horsemen of the Apocalypse are never to be underestimated. No matter their level.
And speaking of the Horseman of Death, Shirogane can’t help but furrow his brows when he looks back at where she is right now. Because he previous lawn chair has been completely replaced with some grand manor resort. One that he recognizes as being the one that Famine had prepared for their Horseman gathering years back.
Did she really get the pharaoh to reproduce it in a portable form…?
He stares blankly at the randomly floating manor resort in the middle of space with a battle going on outside of it for a few moments before shaking his head and refocusing on the battlefield again.
It’s best not to question what she does. I’ll never see the end of it.
Aria
I let out a sigh of relief as I relax in the spa with a robot that came with this place massaging my shoulders. Which doesn’t really relieve any tension since my body can’t actually build tension, but still feels nice regardless. And after the massage, I just lie down in the water relaxing.
All while explosions continue to sound outside of the manor resort.
But those explosions have little to do with me. And I’m just relaxing for a change of pace.
The main reason I don’t use this manor resort very often while watching conflicts like this is the fact that I can’t actually watch the conflicts from inside. At best I can put up a live viewing screen of the conflicts from the different facilities of the manor resort, but I can’t actually see it.
That’s why it’s best to watch outside on a lawn chair or my newly ordered recliner. Which I hope arrives soon.
The portable version of the manor resort Raja got me can’t exactly replicate the servants from the original resort owned by Famine that was kinda destroyed. But the robot servants he included in it are just as skilled at the various services inside as the living servants at Famine’s resort were. So it works out.
Overall, I very much like the place.
I continue to lie down in the water for a while to relax with a screen showing the battle outside floating above me. Then I eventually get out of the water, with a robot coming over to cover me with a robe.
Without stopping as they do that, I head over to the bar where a robot bartender gives me a drink that I have with a sigh.
Eventually, after having several more drinks, I get dressed again before going to the balcony at the front of the manor resort and just lying down on one of the chairs located there. Wearing a t-shirt and shorts with no shoes or socks. Just crossing my legs while lying back on a lawn chair and looking up at the battle going on above me.
I really like this manor resort. It’s very comfortable.
The place is also designed so that I take damage for any damage that happens to the manor resort. Just like everything else I have with me.
So I don’t even have to worry about it being damaged like the original manor resort was at the meeting place.
As for the few things that do require maintenance? Like cleaning, the replacement of water and wine and other consumables, and all that?
Raja handles that once every month.
It’s very convenient. Almost like bringing a home with me everywhere I go.
Then again, I technically am bringing my home with me everywhere I go in the form of my ship.
When I turn my attention back to the battle, I can’t help but notice that Pestilence seems to have shifted his focus a little. To the point that he’s no longer directly targeting War.
Instead he’s targeting War’s companion.
My eyes narrow a little at that.
Okay, that might not end well. War seems to care about Little Rain a good bit, so he is absolutely going to rampage if Little Rain dies.
I’m actually a little surprised that Pestilence can even attack Little Rain while under the effects of War’s duel skill. But I guess it’s probably because Little Rain must be considered a part of War for the duel’s sake? Since Little Rain, just like Asher, is from a skill.
What’s worse is that I don’t actually feel all that surprised about Pestilence’s actions. Because War killed Pestilence’s companion, so now Pestilence is trying to take revenge by killing War’s companion.
And, regardless of whether he succeeds or not, the damage is already done to their relationship. They will probably always be at war even if Pestilence somehow manages to break out of War’s duel skill’s effects.
It’ll be a conflict to the death.
I just hope it doesn’t take too long. Because I don’t want to be sitting here for ages waiting for one of them to kick the bucket so that I can swipe a soul core.
Probably Pestilence’s soul core, considering that War is already stronger, and Pestilence was a bit weakened at the start of the duel.
I yawn at that thought before grabbing some wine from a storage device and beginning to sip it while still staring up at the battle above me.
