Aria
A couple more weeks pass rather peacefully as I read. Or, peacefully except for the massive battle going on destroying a galaxy. And except for the fallen demons currently attacking various places across the universe. Also except for a ruler of a disaster system that was apparently set off by all of this and is going on a rampage on the borders of the disaster system.
I blink at all that while climbing onto my ship.
Okay, maybe it’s not quite so peaceful. But it’s peaceful around me, at least.
Anyway, after getting on my ship – which was parked outside of the galaxy the two Horsemen are destroying for its own safety – I head to the bridge before stating, “Please take the ship to the Underground.”
|Understood. Setting course now.|
I yawn while sitting down on the commander’s chair and stretching my arms over my head.
It’s been a while since I went to a new planet. And this one is a pretty interesting one.
Meanwhile the battle going on in that galaxy has gotten boring. I’ll just keep an eye on the live footage of the battle to make sure neither of them die while I’m not there.
That would be unfortunate. I need to claim the soul core of whichever Horseman dies, after all.
I also have Raja prepared to give me a heads-up. Then I can make a Gate and portal over there at any time.
As for the planet I’m going to now? That one is a rather unique planet, but doesn’t have an immense amount of beautiful sights to see. Mostly it just has unusual sights.
Although, there are a couple beautiful sights I can take in.
The Underground. It’s a strange planet where the entire surface layer of the planet is incredibly toxic. Not the air, nor anything in the air, but the actual surface layer of the planet. It’s all made out of a strange rock that is both toxic and acidic towards anything not native to the planet.
Even a level three thousand would find their feet melting if they tried standing on it.
Just this unusual nature alone is enough to pique my interest. Especially since it’s only the surface layer. After someone gets just several meters deep into the planet, it’s no longer toxic.
The planet itself never originally had natives on it. It was a resource planet originally discovered millions of years ago that was just kinda ignored at first. But then people realized there were some of the most precious minerals in the universe deep in the planet after someone decided to try and mine into the toxic planet.
Once the potential sources of wealth were discovered, people all around started immigrating into the planet before building an entire underground world with hundreds of cities and millions of mines throughout the world. Only for those people to end up evolving over the years into what they’re currently like now.
A special type of human subspecies called the deep dwellers who have perfect night vision, and require less oxygen and an immunity to a lot of natural gasses that are normally poisonous or otherwise deadly to humans.
Of course, they also have an issue where their eyes are extremely sensitive to light. Kind of like moles. But they usually wear eye protectors, since a lot of people still show up to the planet hoping to make it big by mining minerals or even discovering new mineral deposits.
The planet is also known to be one of the largest planets in the entire universe, spanning over a million kilometers in diameter. Literally the size of over a hundred planets crammed into one.
And, on top of that, the planet still manages to develop more mineral deposits over time. With an odd feature that comes from the Hunter’s Spot at the core of the planet. One where the planet itself is constantly growing larger from the Hunter’s Spot’s Tier 10 mana creatures.
So it is the greatest source of minerals in the universe.
It also takes quite a while to go from the surface down to the deeper layers of the planet, since you have to go through numerous tunnels and cities and can’t just take a ship or something.
The cities in the first several layers have Gates connected to them for people to travel through, but Gates stop working after that. The minerals jam the signals, making it impossible for Gates to connect.
When it comes to the Hunter’s Spots on the planet, they aren’t all that profitable for most people. Just the powerful people with time and money on their hands. Simply because the Hunter’s Spots are all at the core of the planet, which is made up of large chambers filled with pools of lava.
The mana creatures inside of the Hunter’s Spots are all made up entirely of minerals found on the planet. So they are very profitable.
It’s just that most people can’t get down that deep into the planet.
There are a couple super elevators that go from the surface down to the area outside of the core, but they are both extremely expensive to use, very tough on a person’s body, and can only be used a limited number of times a day. Simply because of how much distance it has to cross to reach the core, on top of the pressure that the planet has the deeper in someone gets.
Even with the superpowered space elevators using the most advanced technology Raja could develop, they can only make two round trips a day to the core. Both since the elevator has to cross over half a million kilometers, and because of the immense pressure faced deep in the planet.
Either way, I’m not planning on using the elevator. I want to experience it all myself.
Also, my Gates aren’t affected by the signal jamming of the minerals in the planet. So I can come and go as I please.
More importantly, I want to try their cafés. I’ve heard that some of their cafés are set up with a great view of lavafalls.
That sounds like a very nice ambiance.
Not as good as snowfall, but still good and unique.
I can’t help but smile at that thought as the ship begins to head in the direction of the Underworld. Only to find a rather startling surprise appearing on my ship in the form of a soul I recognize. And a second one appears after the first, with this one also being familiar.
What are they doing here?
I wait for a bit until both of them enter the command bridge before spinning my chair around and looking at them.
“I’m joining you on your trip,” Little Blue says without hesitation. “I need a vacation.”
Her words make me part my mouth open in surprise without knowing what to say.
Then Shirogane suddenly adds, “I’m joining as well.”
The two proceed to walk up to my chair and pull out chairs of their own before placing them next to mine and sitting down facing the window and the space outside of it that is currently just a hyperspace view. Clearly not bothering with asking me for permission to join me.
I spin my chair around again while narrowing my eyes at the two of them, only briefly noting when Asher jumps onto my lap and joins me in narrowing my eyes at them.
“Why the sudden visit and tagalong…?” I ask after several seconds.
“I haven’t had a vacation in decades, so I’m doing so now,” Little Blue says with a smug nod of her head. “The others can deal with the influx of people wanting to immigrate to your nation for its safety from the Horsemen and Demon King.”
Ah. She just wants to avoid a massive amount of work that piled up due to those conflicts.
I glance at Shirogane as he says, “Father said I should take a vacation sometime as well, and I chose now to do so.”
“And when did your father tell you this?” I ask out of curiosity.
He looks at me with the corners of his lips quirking upwards and says, “About sixty-one years ago.”
My eyes narrow further before I alternate my gaze between the two of them. Then I just look outside again.
There goes my peace and quiet.
Couldn’t they go avoid their work elsewhere?
Seriously… who goes around avoiding work these days?
I grab a glass of wine before taking a sip of it, deciding to ignore the two stowaways as I continue on my trip.
