Aidan
Mere moments after being teleported away, I can’t help but panic a little when I realize that the loot boxes are still there and I didn’t get to open them. But that panic doesn’t last long before I get a System Message stating that they cannot be opened by anyone other than me.
That’s a relief.
I let out a sigh before looking at my surroundings. Where I find myself sitting in a booth located at the very center of a grand chamber. One filled with numerous rings, all of varying elevation, and all with other booths on them.
That said, my booth is the only one at the center of the chamber, and it is labeled with a number one. Likely because I’m the First Ranked user in the entire galaxy.
Or maybe it’s just because I’m number one in the cluster?
I’m not sure. My guess is the former, since there are several people on the ring surrounding mine, each with their own numbers above their heads.
They’re all at the same distance from the raised central platform, just with different colored booths along with their different numbers.
Meanwhile the number of booths on each ring after it increases exponentially as the rings get larger and closer to the ground.
Every booth has several people in it, with one seat in which I’m guessing the owner of the booth is sitting in.
Looking at the numbers and the people in the booths, it does look like it’s arranged based on a mixture of the number of System Cities a user owns along with their current ranking on the Cluster Leaderboards.
As for why I’m the only one at the center, I’m still not sure if it’s because of the Cluster or Galaxy Leaderboards. Even after looking at all of the others.
Anyway, I can’t help but notice quite a few scowls aimed at me. Mostly coming from two specific booths.
The booth labeled number two, and the booth labeled number three.
The Orc King and Zelbar Queen’s booths respectively.
Both booths have several users in them, and none of them look very pleased with the arrangement of the World Council.
Which makes sense. Both groups are incredibly arrogant and proud, so I’d be more surprised if they weren’t upset.
Not that it matters much to me how they feel, though. Considering that the number of voidlings are still growing by the day. And at a far faster rate than their orcs and zelbar.
The latest report I’ve heard stated that the orcs have amassed over a million forces, while the zelbar have amassed one and a half million.
Meanwhile my voidlings have over two million forces now.
Of course, the average strength of the orcs is the highest of the three species. Simply because a good half or so of both the voidlings and zelbar are more recently hatched.
But still. Numbers are quite important at the end of the day.
Anyway, after giving us a brief period of time to adjust to our surroundings, System Messages begin to flow.
◊ The first World Council of the Cluster known as Gaia shall now commence. ◊
◊ The top ten thousand ranked users on the Gaia Cluster Main Leaderboards, along with the top one hundred on the Individual Combat Strength Cluster-Wide Sub-Leaderboards, have all been summoned to participate and placed accordingly. ◊
◊ Users are arranged based on their performance ever since the System’s Initialization in the Aqua Galaxy. Performance is calculated by the following aspects in order of ascending importance: Labyrinth Leaderboards Placement, Tutorial Leaderboards Placement, User’s Accumulated Level, Total Number of System Cities, Individual Combat Strength Cluster-Wide Sub-Leaderboard, Cluster Main Leaderboards Placement, Galaxy Main Leaderboards Placement. ◊
◊ Users on the Top Central Platform have a total of one hundred votes. ◊
◊ Users on the First Ring have a total of thirty votes. ◊
◊ Users on the Second Ring have a total of Ten votes. ◊
◊ Users on the Third Ring have a total of five votes. ◊
◊ Users on the Fourth Ring have a total of three votes. ◊
◊ Users on the Fifth Ring have a total of two votes. ◊
◊ All users on the ground level have a single vote each. ◊
◊ Additionally, all users will gain one additional vote for every additional System City they own after one City. ◊
◊ Advisors do not have votes regardless of which platform or ring they are on unless they were also invited to the World Council separately but simply chose to become an advisor. ◊
◊ The first vote of the Gaia World Council shall be to determine the World Leader of Gaia. ◊
◊ Should a World Leader be selected, the Battle Royale held in two weeks shall turn into one for rewards. However, should a World Leader not be selected, the Champion of the Battle Royale will have a vote equivalent to 30% of the total votes in the election. ◊
◊ In order for a World Leader to be selected, a single user must receive 75% of the votes. Should a World Leader not be selected during a World Council, the vote will be repeated during the next World Council exactly one month later. ◊
◊ Until a World Leader is selected, numerous features of the World Council shall be restricted or locked entirely. ◊
◊ Now please begin discussions amongst yourself. The vote shall commence in two hours. ◊
My eyes narrow at the flow of messages. It’s not all that different from what I was expecting, what with Seraphyne having already filled me in on some of the core parts of it, but she also mentioned that the Battle Royale Champion has a different percentage of votes for every world.
And it looks like our world’s Champion can account for almost half of the votes needed for a World Leader to be elected. A World Leader would need 45% of the votes along with the Champion’s vote to be elected.
As for someone getting elected as World Leader during the first election today?
I would be utterly shocked if that actually happens.
There are just too many factions, too many species, and a few specific species have too many members in them for any specific result to be reached.
Honestly, simply by looking at the different booths arrayed across the chamber, a good eighth of them are made up of orcs and zelbar. With numerous empty booths as well, which I’m guessing represent cities owned by users who have more than one System City. That or they’re just owned by someone who died or for some reason can’t show up.
I myself have obtained even more System Cities over the course of the last week from the voidlings offering me their own cities that they manage to obtain for themselves from System rewards.
So I wouldn’t be surprised if the total number of votes ends up having nearly twenty to twenty-five percent of the votes being spread across the voidlings, zelbar, and orcs alone. Especially since we’re the top three on the leaderboards.
Considering that I also have the extra votes from being the only one on the central platform, it might even be a higher percentage than that.
With that in mind, I turn my focus onto the different species on the lower rings that I’ve never seen before. Of which number several at the very least.
There are short and skinny creatures with paler skin that look almost like dwarves but identify as halflings, along with creatures who don’t actually have legs and look like they’re half ghosts with some long wispy tail called wraiths, and even creatures with horns and the forms similar to rhinos called drachnar. Which is interesting since the last one doesn’t have a humanoid form at all.
I guess non-humanoids really are included as users.
Other than just voidlings, I mean.
Since there are plenty of voidlings that aren’t humanoid. Even if most of the most powerful voidlings do tend to be humanoid.
Other than those three, there are several more species as well, and the ratkin in particular seem to take up a lot of System Cities too. Even if they’re all at the ground level without any higher ranking ratkin.
Right. Ratkin have a high population.
I forgot about that.
My thoughts return to the election when I notice the vast majority of the users in the chamber focusing on me and the voidlings next to me.
Please tell me they’re not waiting for me to start this.
The murmuring in the chamber continues for a bit as even more users turn their gazes to me.
Damnit, I think they really are expecting me to start this…
Right as I’m beginning to wonder how to do that, the Orc King sneers and declares, “So this is the so-called Void Crowne I’ve been hearing about. You don’t look very impressive to me.”
I blink at that.
Excuse me?
