Within a Private Class S System Lounge

“Do you think she’ll make it?” Diana Reltfel asks while lying down on her front across a large sofa in the lounge provided by the System. Not caring at all that she’s using her father’s Class S System Lounge as a gathering place for a watch party with comrades.

Comrades, of course, being people she has ‘borrowed’ from before.

“Someone who has defeated a member of the Mountain won’t be defeated by something like this,” Argos Thunder says, his words dead certain about the outcome of the battle.

“I didn’t mean that,” Diana says with a roll of her eyes, the Reltfel princess not caring about his mountain’s customs. “I meant, will she get out before it’s too late?” She points at the screen in front of the five royals and adds, “Val is already close to losing its first War Event, and she might not manage to kill the Unique Monster before the dungeon breaks.”

“No,” Rellatia Cove, Princess of the Alchemist Cove, says, her voice much quieter than the others. Which always irritates Diana a little. “She may not defeat the beast by dungeon’s break, but she will make it to save her planet.”

“Then you agree that she won’t beat the Void God before it breaks!” Diana says, ignoring the rest of the alchemist’s words beyond what she wants to hear as always.

“She better win that damned war,” Aralan Argol, Prince of the Argol Empire, grounds out while scowling at the screen with his arms crossed. “She beat me in an Event, so she can’t lose to anyone other than an Argol Royal.”

“Oh? What about me?” Diana says while turning her head around to look at the man sitting on a nearby recliner. “I beat you as well. Does that mean you don’t want pretty ol’ me losing to anyone else? Do you have a crush?”

“Shut the fuck up you Primordial-damned thief,” Aralan growls with his fists clenched so hard the air begins to compress within his palms. “You and your entire family are just petty crooks! I didn’t lose that fight fair and square, you sat back and let me do all the work before you swooped in and stole the fucking egg at the last second!”

“Yeah, so I won, right?” Diana confirms with a firm nod of her head before humming to herself while turning her head back and focusing on the screen again. “Sore losers sure look bad. You’ll never get a fiancé at this rate, ya know.”

“You fucking bitch!” Aralan shouts while climbing to his feet and walking over to her. But despite his clear anger, he doesn’t do anything and just glares at her from a standing position as he shouts, “Battles should be fought fair and square, and so should events! Freeloading off of the work others do is not allowed!”

“Says who? Says you? Says the Primordials?” Diana retorts with a roll of her eyes. “Get over it, kid. You lost, and I won! Like always.”

“You are only one day older than me,” Aralan growls as steam begins to rise from his body. “You do not get to-”

“Enough,” Azaryth Valecrown, the Prince of the Ouroboros Dynasty, declares, stopping the two immediately. “If you’re going to fight, do it elsewhere. I’m busy.”

The prince doesn’t even bother looking away from the screen as he says that. And within moments of the two going silent, he starts to mutter to himself, “Would that work? No… it’s not enough. What can I supplement it with…” None of the other royals in the lounge look surprised by his muttering. Instead Argos looks at him and asks, “What are you studying this time?”

“I’m trying to make a poison that will mimic the effects of Chaos’ blood, like the blood in Ashley’s body,” Azaryth mutters in answer without taking his gaze from the screen still as Ashley continues her clash with the Void God. A clash that has turned into a battle of attrition.

Whoever can survive the beating longest wins.

“I might have to meet her in person and get a sample of her blood to figure it out…” he eventually mutters again, making the others look at him with expressions wondering just how likely that is to work.

But none of them say anything out loud about that.

Except Diana, who asks, “And how exactly do you plan on getting blood from a Successor to the most powerful overprotective father in the universe?”

Those words give Azaryth pause for a moment. Just a moment, though, as he soon begins to mutter to himself about bribes and return gifts for the blood.

Even Diana rolls her eyes this time and tunes the poison master out, having grown used to him and his family’s obsession with developing new poisons by now. All five of the royals in the lounge have grown a lot closer over the time since they first met in the Official System Event where Ashley took first place. Even if some of them are still less than agreeable.

Diana glances at a certain muscleheaded prince at that thought before looking away again when Aralan notices her glance. Confusing him in the process and making him ask out loud, “Did you just think something rude about me?”

“It’s in your head,” Diana says without looking at him again. All while wondering how he can be so perceptive and yet so stupid.

“Hey, Diana, do you think you’ll be able to face Ashley after she claims the Void God’s skills?” Argos asks while crossing his arms and narrowing his eyes slightly at the screen. “You’re the best one here with mental skills.”

Diana grows serious for the first time since entering the lounge as she intensely studies the screen for a moment. Only to shake her head and answer, “If it weren’t for the skill the Primordial of Virtue gave her, I’d have a shot. But I’m screwed thanks to that skill.”

Silence fills the lounge for a moment due to the words of one of very few people in the entire universe that has a True Damage mental attack skill admitting her defeat before any battle can even take place.

“You all should worry about yourselves,” Diana says with a wave of her hand while spinning a keychain in her finger. “Build up your own mental defenses, or try to figure out how to overwhelm her immediately. Otherwise she’ll tear your minds to shreds with that black fog.”

No one says anything again as Diana continues spinning the keychain for several minutes. But after the initial serious atmosphere, the atmosphere turns weird as Diana notices some of the other royals noticing what is on the keychain she’s spinning.

Everyone but Aralan, who takes several more minutes before he finally mutters, “Wait a second…” Diana covers her mouth with her free hand without taking her eyes from the screen. Then Aralan shouts, “Hey, why do you have my safe keys!!! Give those back immediately!!”

“Do you think we should take a Trial?” Argos asks, bringing up a surprising but also not surprising suggestion as Aralan begins to chase a happily laughing Diana around the room. Completely ignoring their antics in the process.

“I will,” Azaryth answers immediately, also ignoring the chase. “I need to be on equal footing with her to hope to get some of her blood.”

“I don’t care,” Rellatia mutters while sitting on a chair further away from the group and staring at the screen with an unusual look in her eyes. “But if you do get some of her blood, please share it with me.”

“No way,” Azaryth firmly rejects the request. “Get it yourself.”

“Please?” Rellatia asks, her voice growing even smaller.

Azaryth doesn’t give her any answer this time and just ignores her. Meanwhile Diana, while jumping away from Aralan’s hands reaching for the keychain, shouts, “I’m up for the challenge! Maybe it’ll give me a True Damage resistance skill if I take one of the Virtue Trials!”

“You?! A Virtue Trial?! You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me!” Aralan shouts as he jumps after her again, blasting steam through the room that is immediately eliminated by the System to push himself forwards faster. “And give me back my Primordial-damned keys already you thief!”

“I’ll do the same,” Argos declares with a nod of his head after hearing the opinions of the others. “But before that, I still haven’t given the Royal Sigel to Ashley yet.”

“I wanted to invite her to the lounge too, but the System doesn’t allow users from newly initialized worlds into private lounges for a while after initializing!” Diana shouts before ducking under Aralan’s reaching hand and running away again. “I’ll invite her soon! She should have permission to ignore the restriction once she reaches Class B!”

“Good,” Argos mutters, nodding his head again as he stares at the screen. “Then we can form a team and compete in some Official System Team Events together as well.”

None of the others agree to nor deny his words while continuing to do whatever they are currently doing.

Which is messing with Aralan in Diana’s case.

A very fun pastime!

“Get back here you damned monkey!” Aralan’s roar continues to fill the lounge alongside Diana’s laughs.
