NathanYear 2853 | Month 6 | Day 26

Soon enough, the time of the tournament opening ceremonies finally arrives, and I step up to the waiting area. At which point I focus on the screen located at the front of the waiting area.

“Hello again everyone, and welcome to the sixty-first Arcane Crown’s Opening Ceremonies!!! I am your host and head commentator, Blade!” a man with pale blue eyes and a sharp looking, short haircut states with more than a little excitement clear in his voice. “Let us welcome the first bracket’s competitors!”

After his words, the Class C magicians competing in the tournament begin to move out from a large tunnel in several lines before spreading out to cover the entire large, rectangular platform located at the center of the stadium. And there are hundreds upon hundreds of them just at first glance.

“These are the one thousand Class C magicians who have made it through the preliminary rounds located on each continent to reach the main tournament!” Blade exclaims as the many magicians line up to form a massive grid on the platform. “Every single one of these magicians is a prodigy in their own right across the world! They all have more than enough potential to eventually hit S Class! And now they’ll be competing together live to find who amongst them is the strongest!”

One thousand Class C magicians.

That’s a lot.

What’s more is their ages. Most of them all look like late teenagers, with ages between sixteen to nineteen years old.

Which certainly confirms that whole ‘prodigies’ thing Blade just said.

I was still a Class E magician at best back then, and these kids are already Class C… It’s just ridiculous.

Even amongst the most talented prodigies across the Eternal Continents, I don’t think any of them managed to reach Class C in their teens.

Then again, I only learned recently, but there is apparently a higher level of talent than 5. Which was always the highest known talent level in the Eternal Continents.

Technically it’s still the highest level known outside of it. It’s just the upper society that knows about Talent Level 6.

The common people and lower Class magicians still don’t know about it, and the devices that are meant to read talent level don’t state it if someone is Talent Level 6 or not. They simply state level 5 for the people reading their talent, then report to the higher ups of that nation about their real level.

Apparently they do this because there are criminal organizations that target level 6 talents. So they do it to protect them.

Anyway, Blade doesn’t bother to introduce most of the Class C magicians. At most he mentions a few royals amongst their numbers, along with a couple who have already cleared some of the requirements to be classified as a Class B magician. Specifically the spell development requirements.

They are all still Class C magicians, after all. And Class C magicians don’t affect the power of a nation whatsoever.

Soon enough, the Class C magicians’ brackets appear, matching them all up in one on one duels. Then the magicians all leave the stadium platform.

“Now let us introduce the Class B magicians of the second bracket!” Blade continues. And, unlike when he was introducing the Class C magicians when the stadium was completely silent, some cheers begin to echo through the stadium upon his words. Not many, but some. “A total of five hundred Class B magicians have made it through the preliminary rounds to enter the main tournament! And it was a fierce competition this year!”

Before he even finishes speaking, numerous people begin marching onto the platform. Just like with the Class C magicians. Except that there are only half as many magicians this time as with the Class C magicians.

On top of that, these magicians are a little older on average. Generally ranging from around nineteen years old to their mid-twenties in their appearances.

Which is, again, very young for Class B magicians.

Blade introduces quite a few more of them this time around than he did with the Class C magicians. But, again, they’re still only Class B magicians at the end of the day.

Class B magicians are definitely elites from the standpoint of the Eternal Continents, but from the view of the outside continents, they are just stronger regular soldiers. Probably officer rank soldiers.

After the Class B magicians, the crowd in the stadium begins to grow louder as the anticipation quickly begins to build amongst those watching. All for the upcoming Class A magicians.

And it doesn’t take long before Blade shouts, “Now, are you all ready for the start of the true battles to determine the most powerful magicians?! The introduction of our Class A magicians and their bracket reveal?!”

The audience watching roars a hell of a lot louder than before.

“Then let us welcome them with open arms!” Blade shouts, sounding a lot more excited about the Class A magicians himself as well. Just like the audience. “Enter! All two hundred and fifty Class A magicians who have made it through the preliminaries!”

I watch with my eyes slightly narrowed at the sight of the two hundred and fifty magicians entering the stadium and climbing the platform. Each with the aura of Class A magicians.

This is definitely the most Class A magicians I’ve ever seen at once before.

As for their ages? They’re all generally in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties. With some exceptions.

Of course, their exact age isn’t clear just from their appearances. Since aging can be affected by a magician’s understanding of their affinity.

Still. They’re all immensely talented just from their obvious youth.

Incendia, who has been sitting on my shoulder with her eyes closed this whole time, finally opens her eyes and looks at the screen. But she doesn’t look long before closing her eyes again.

I return my gaze to the screens when Blade begins to talk about the magicians out on the platform.
