I don't understand how the dread empire can last I'd probably start a suicide cult if I was in that situation I would spread word far and wide that death is preferable than this existence and I believe I could start a religion of suicide and it would be popular.

I find it funny he is going on about how could he have known. The got death is amoung you notice right as his forces invaded and inducted the planet, that should have been a huge red flag that death could be there, and not being able to revive someone should have been another red flag, as unless they have VERY special skill and class, preventing revival should not be someone a new system user can do. (I know he was not aware at first but he was for the 3rd part) and that they survived the death spirit, his necromancer could have failed sure. Any of the 3 individualy could be a coincidence, but together they are a sign of "here be a anthill you should not kick".

No, not really. You're forgetting that over 20 worlds were initiated at the exact same time as Vortel was. They also assumed it was the Death Spirit that made them not able to revive. So none of the things you stated imply Death was there.

Those laws seem light though. A week to a month of imprisonment. The starvation is the worst part. Unfortunately for those talking suicide, it's known that a starving person does not have their full faculties so it would be easy to keep an eye on them, though the soldiers are starved too. Smarter plan would be that people in the army can eat in full if they serve well. Yes, sacrifice some levels, but always good to keep the army happy, though Famine might be a high enough level that he could just kill all the worlds if he really needs to.

I'm hella late to this, but also considering that Vortel is a Gamma tier planet, everyone basically dismissed any possibility of it having the horseman, much less any one with S rank abilities.
