Halsin- Tradition (Print Club Exclusive for June) (Patreon)

Hello everyone!!!!

I originally wasn't planning on having the print for this month's print club be a Halsin piece, but I just ended up falling head over heels for this one as I was working on it haha.

As I mentioned briefly in my post about my hot spring Halsin piece, I absolutely LOVE cave paintings. Cueva de las Manos in Argentina (https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/936/) is one of my absolute favorite sites due to the handprints. One of my favorite details is that interspersed with the human handprints there area few Rhea bird footprint outlines as well.

Halsin's connection with his primal nature, as the environment is just my favorite thing about him. So for some reason I love pairing him with rock carvings and cave paintings.

I've been having a lot of fun loosening up a bit with my painting style lately. I just feel like, with the advent of AI garbage literally everywhere, I'm enjoying my less polished pieces more than ever.

I'm thinking perhaps a closeup of Halsin's hand overlaid with a bear paw for the postcard, but we will see.

Of course! There's an old hiking trail by my apartments that takes you up to the volcanoes (they are currently dormant) and all along that trail are the old paintings and rick carvings. My dad is also a member of the Laguna Pueblo tribe so we go to the old places a lot too. ☺️

"Primal" is really the perfect descriptor. This is fantastic - peaceful, but with a wonderful depth of connection implied.

Thank you so much! I've always loved druids in the Forgotten Realms so I like to go ham on it with Halsin haha.

A binder, that's a really good idea! My friend also suggested twine or what have you, and then you clip various art off the twine like a hanging mural. I might do that.

Oh that just sounds absolutely magical. ;A; There's nothing in this world like walking in an area where there is tangible evidence of people long since gone or changed. Here we don't have much nearby, though there is an exhibit of Ancestral Puebloan dwellings (moved here, unfortunately not originally located here) that I just love visiting. So special to be able to place your hand on a spot someone hundreds of years ago placed theirs. Just gives me the chills in the best way!
