Spike is one of those forever characters I will love until I'm a senior citizen. I'm on my Buffy shit again and probably going to paint more Spike soon. Fun little behind the scenes, here is a photo I took of myself in my very cool Spike jacket that I never wear anywhere to use for this painting. I took the jacket out of the photo and warped it to fit his form, and changed the colors to fit the scene. The warm lighting behind me was a happy little accident because I REALLY like how it fit the lighting for the painting. I just painted over it until I was happy with it, honestly I really like how it looks.

Taking grainy phone pictures is actually a great way to get some quick stuff to paint over, as it it sometimes quicker to snap a shot of something similar instead of digging through references and stock photos for bits and bobs.
