Hey guys! I decided I'd love to show you guys my process (somewhat) from start to finish in a video series! Come along with me as I meander my way through creating a Marazhai painting and exploring what I think is fundamental to creating piece of art that captures a character's essence.

Warning there is some nudity because I do go over some of my illustrations that have boobs in them, I tried to censor out the dingaling. Also, I have no filter and apparently I swear a lot according to those who are subjected to me.

For the contents of the video:

This video is mostly analysis on my previous Marazhai paintings (what I like and what I'd like to improve upon) and doing the early reference gathering process with a bit of my 3D stuff thrown in. I do a LOT of thinking before I start a painting, so this was my attempt to capture that as I go.

I'll likely just do a voice-over and speed up future steps (pausing where necessary) because I have a terrible time talking and working simultaneously (as you are unfortunately about to be subjected to if you listen)

I hope watching/listening isn't quite as bad as watching paint dry- I am new to this. I tried my best to edit out gaps of silence and shockingly like 1/3 of the "ums" so you're welcome. 😎

I will probably try to make a condensed version of this when I have all of the parts done, but for now you're just getting the raw, nearly uncut, ramblings of a crazy person trying to paint a murder elf.

Thanks as always for your support!!

Ahhhhh!!! This was so interesting, process-wise, artistically but also personally! I've been drawing Marazhai quite a bit and it's really interesting to dive into someone else's thoughts about him: what they really like about him, the potential they see in him, what they obsess about, etc. I've been going down the Drukhari rabbit hole myself so I'm right there with you! I love to see your process on looking for inspiration, gathering your references, how you think you are going to use certain aspects, how you look/think about things, etc. I also had no idea about that purref program so I will definitely check it out! I also had a good giggle at the "Dicktator" folder name LOL. Looking forward to your next video!

Awh thank you so much for watching!! It's really interesting how different artists focus on different elements of a character, and what strikes us haha. What is your favorite thing about him?? PureRef is the best!!!!!!! And lmao, yeah that is the name of the best posable dingdong ever lmao

Definitely his hair. I've sketched a few random Drukhari and the hairstyle is always my favorite part. I also love to capture the Drukhari aesthetic of their armor/clothing: spikes, sharp edges and aggressiveness for miles.

MARAZHAI DINGDONG PLZ. (My obsession with him is definitely unhealthy lol. Still on my first playthrough and my murder elf can do no wrong.) Thanks for this!
