I wanted to share a project I have been working on this past month! I painted a resin print of CA3D's Johnny Silverhand sculpt! I've only gotten into painting figures this year and learned a lot. I saw this sculpt and went full delulu because I loved his wistful gaze.....

He is a little over 21 inches tall. I didn't have a banana for scale, I'm sorry. 😭 He now lives in my reading room where I hope to finish a V figure to go next to him.Big thank you to my very talented friends MoonlitPanic link and Sister of Claudia link (the ones who are working on the Sweetheart Halsin figure coming soon...🐻) for helping me with my million questions as I stumbled my way through this project to say the least.

I will probably share more of these projects in the future, it's something I've really been enjoying in my free time!!! I hope it's not too off the usual fare.

Much love to you guys,

Lily

This is amazing??!! You freehand drew the tattoos??? I am in extreme awe. And love this so much!!

Thank you!!! 🥹Yes, I didn't have a way to make water transfers (plus I wanted them to look a bit softer) so I just went for it

Omg u nailed the fabric texture of his vest!!! I imagine it’s very hard to achieve on resin. I also have my own commission project of JS’s head sculpt, but it’s in 1/6 scale and I paired it with his HotToys figure hehe

Wooooww that is amazing!!!!! 😍😍😍 So so cool 😭❤️ And thank you, it was a little trial and error but luckily I have some really flat matte black paint that worked out great.

Yo I love this!! I’ve been thinking about getting this figure for myself I was just worried about the size and painting it, but I think you just convinced me! He looks great!!

Dang Lily, this looks amazing! Would never have guessed you were new to this. You especially nailed the skin. My brain doesn't understand how that's not real. 😆

Thank you!! Yaaay! I'm glad I've convinced you, this was a really fun model to paint. Please show me if you do!!!! I will note that I did have some issues with keeping the heads interchangeable as the cigarette totally gets in the way, plus his neck doesn't quite slot in his torso quite as snugly as I would like (and the chain on his dog tags was also kind of difficult to deal with as I had to make some new beads out of greenstuff.) I had to sand down the cigarette. I tried to magnetize his arm to avoid this but the magnets I got were too small and I just wanted to assemble😭 That would solve this issue.

Awh thank you so much 😭😭 I was soooo scared this was only the second time I have painted skin on a figure (I did a little Heinrix earlier this year) and I was very intimidated
