Latest piece, some Gale love this time because I feel like he gets way too much crap. Someone said they were glad I didn't paint more Gale so I felt spiritually obligated to paint him again in protest. I love Gale very much. Calling this piece "Tryst."

As you can see, I became transfixed with painting his underpants. They are enchanted, after all.

Love you all, and overwhelmed repeatedly that there are people actually interested in my art. It's so weird. I am endlessly grateful.

Ahhh! Chefs kiss!!! Beautiful Gale! Amazing job!!!

feyspeaker

Thank you!!!! I enjoyed working on this- I finally feel like I've got him pretty much down. He has a very unique brow/eye structure and it's taken a lot of studying and referencing to get the hang of.

Erin Lemons

He really does! Plus I also feel like his eyes are more deep set than others! It makes it slightly more difficult to get certain lighting—but you nailed it! 🥰

ppl r weird. this, however, is not weird. it's just retina-cloudingly gorgeous. thank you for letting righteous spite inspire you so deliciously ♥

Panicat

I mean at first when I started BG3 it took me a while to warm up to him but now 💖 - also good for you not to let anybody tell you what to do 💪🏻✨

Oh, the moonlighting is so pretty, this is beautiful

Rhiannon

You captured Gale SO well, oh wow this is just *swoons* beautiful!!

feyspeaker

Honestly, back in early access I didn't like him as much, but I think it was because they clearly hadn't settled on his "look" yet. He was quite plain looking in EA. I honestly gasped when I saw him for the first time after they settled on his final look- I never thought Astarion would get a challenger but tbh I really love both of them.

feyspeaker

Thank you!! I cannot get away from the moon- perhaps a motif I just have to accept from here on out. In particular I love the concept of the Tears of Selune, even though it's a tiny detail I always try to include them when I paint the moon in the Forgotten Realms setting.

feyspeaker

Thank you!!!!! I tried several poses before settling on this- my initial sketch painting had him looking a little stiff. I'm glad I scrapped it instead of soldiering on with it because I really like the more relaxed lean I ended up with.

Blodreina

I didn't even notice that detail! Thanks for pointing that out, that had me go down a rabbit hole of research of the tears of selune!

Rhiannon

That pose is EVERYTHING AND SOME! This was an excellent choice, that relaxed look suits his character. Even though he knows his life is a ticking time bomb, he’s so composed always.

Scarlet Wings

There is a time and place for pettiness, this was absolutely that moment. XD Gale is beautiful and wonderful in his own right. as perfectly flawed and human as the rest of us.

feyspeaker

He is SO human. BG3 in general is good at this, but whew, Gale is so authentic that I have to say I think my brain is broken when I think about him- his flaws and personality and they way Larian shaped him to react to whatever Tav does is just astounding. I think the people who don't like him probably dislike him because he has so much agency.

Scarlet Wings

All their characters are so nuanced, in their actions as well as their words. each battling their own conflict. Their complexity is what makes them so astounding. that complexity shows through in your art and I ADORE it.
