SOS Bros React - Fate Strange Fake Episode 8 -

Ace Sock Vims

Another episode, another collection of Skipped Light Novel content. Let’s go: - Flat’s backstory was almost completely cut, which annoys me to no end. But to summarize: First there’s background on Flat’s family line, the Escardos family, who, despite having been around for about two thousand years, had never produced any particularly notable mages. But that all changes when Flat is born. However, despite possessing an extraordinary bodily and magical composition for a mage, Flat was entirely lacking the "mental attitude" needed for excellent mages. And yet, that wasn’t all that was odd with him, because Flat had been able to see "it" since childhood. And that was what truly set him apart from everyone else, since no other mage in the world was capable of seeing “it”. At that point, Flat’s parents began to genuinely fear their son, to the point where they even attempted to kill him, calling him a monster for his abnormal abilities. Before he was even ten, Flat had survived 5 assassination attempts from his parents, all of which were thwarted thanks to his ludicrous, natural skill at magecraft. - Most notably, Flat’s mother’s, aka Arlette’s, mad rant about him was cut almost completely, which is sad, since it helped to demonstrate just how shitty Flat’s childhood truly was. I’m not gonna post the whole thing here, since it’d take up too much room, but I am going to leave it in a comment on YouTube. It’s some crazy stuff. - Then, Flat’s first meeting with Waver was also shortened. Flat was using magecraft to perpetually keep himself smiling, yet Waver was the first one to actually notice and say anything about it. Flat wondered if it was because Waver could see “it” as well, but Waver reveals that he actually noticed because of Flat’s facial muscles moving in unnatural ways, like he explains in the anime. But, despite Waver being yet another mage who couldn’t see “it”, his attentiveness and attitude leave a lasting impression on Flat. Also, the anime completely removes Svin Glascheit, one of Waver’s students and a close friend of Flat’s, from the scene. This was also Flat’s first time meeting him. - The meeting between Caster and Clan Calatin is shortened quite a bit. Most of it discussing about Caster’s past and abilities. - A funny detail that was skipped was Richard thinking that the snipers and scouts surrounding the mansion must’ve been pretty hungry, given that they’ve been keeping a watch on them for about a day. He sneakily goes out to give the soldiers some preserved foods from the mansion, scaring the crap out of them in the process. - Jack’s ability to split himself comes from the popular theory that Jack the Ripper was actually multiple people instead of just a single killer. - We see a short glimpse of it, but there was a scene between Alcides and Bazdilot where he sends him to the hospital. They also discussed some stuff from their previous battle that was interrupted by Prelati, mostly about the self-proclaimed Goddess. - And finally, the conversation between Flat and Jack at the end was quite a bit longer. Mostly talking about how Waver influenced them both, plus some jokes.
