Ace Sock Vims

In this episode of Skipped Light Novel content, we actually don’t have too much to go over in comparison to the previous episodes, since it’s mostly just fights. Let’s go: - The big change in this episode is actually the movement of the order of events. In the Light Novel, Gilgamesh, Richard, and the others from that group, only show up after Alcides has yoinked up Jack’s NP. Basically, Gil pulls up after Jack goes down, only to get distracted by Richard, leading to the events that follow. - Some explanation on Jack’s Noble Phantasms: [From Hell] gets its name from one of the letters supposedly written by Jack the Ripper, which started with those exact words. The letter also started the popular theory that Jack the Ripper wasn’t a human in the first place, but a genuine demon. Because Jack the Ripper is an entity born from human fear, the Noble Phantasm’s strength is rooted in the latent fear and unease of nearby people. Its power changes in proportion to the population density within a radius of 5 km, so the greater the population the greater the power. If he were to use it somewhere in the wilderness with barely any people around, he would be extremely weak, comparable to just a particularly strong animal. When used in an urban area like we get to see, its might becomes considerable. Also, since Jack the Ripper is specifically a killer who hunts humans, and demons are often seen as the “natural enemy” of humans, the form is especially strong against them. This is also why Alcides, who has abandoned his divinity, is considerably more vulnerable to the NP than Heracles would be. The NP also changes the environment around Jack, though the differences between the Light Novel and Anime depictions is considerable. Instead of looking like the more stereotypical Hell in the anime, the Light Novel’s version makes the area more foggy, with human-faced bats flying through the air, and imp-shaped flames surrounding the traffic lights, while countless illusory, sooty buildings, suggestive of London back alleys, also appear. Like I mentioned in the last episode’s Skipped Content comment, [Natural Born Killers] is Jack’s 2nd Noble Phantasm, letting him split into multiple copies. Based on the theory that Jack the Ripper was a group of people, it enables the creation of multiple bodies according to the Master's magical energy. Jack can take on a maximum of 520 bodies with Flat as his Master. The number of bodies decreases in proportion to the strength of the entity it transformed into. When every body is killed, the last remaining body automatically becomes the main body. Needless to say, it is extremely effective when used together with his other Noble Phantasm. - The reason Cerberus seems so underwhelming is because he’s considerably nerfed when Alcides summons him. Because of Alcides’ hatred towards the gods, Cerberus lacks the Blessing of Hades he would normally have as the Guardian of the Underworld.
