(spoilers for only the events of this episode) There was a significant visual change from manga to screen for that scene in front of the fire and it was body language of all things. In ch 9 of the manga, Olruggio is still exhausted in every way possible but 1) Coco is almost in the middle, it's not us vs this new person the way it was framed in the episode, 2) Qifrey is not trying even a little bit to seem professional. The man is slumped over almost as much as Olly for a several panels + leaning against the couch for another, arm on the seat to prop his head up while Olly attempts to remind him that this isn't their job, and 3) they are all sitting significantly closer together. It comes off as a much more casual conversation and Olly less of a threat. My best guess: possibly changed to draw attention to the differences in the way Qifrey and Olly hold themselves normally (Olly has absolutely terrible posture as you noted), keep the tension around whether the new guy is trustworthy or not til the next scene, and create a more serious tone around the topic of discussion to drive home the importance this society places in the laws around forbidden magic and the Knights. We end up in the same place at the end of the episode/chapter, Olly is grumpy on the outside/squishy on the inside, his best known invention is full of delight and whimsy, and Olly is the kind of guy to keep around a permanent version of the spell to dry people off while living with someone who hates being wet. I am just finding the way they're adapting this story really interesting.
