SOS Bros React - HunterxHunter Episode 50 - Escaping Uvogin's Friends

Okay!! Gon and Killua sure finagled their way out of that one! And Nobunaga broke ice on the idea of some of our MC's joining the Troupe (not that they would.) Gon was THE MVP in this episode! And Gon wasn't the MVP in an episode a single time since the Yorknew City Arc started. Let that sink in. When you can take the focus from the endearing/entertaining/interesting protagonist completely away for so long and still keep it as entertaining as ever that's when you know that you are a damn good writer. The fact that Gon hasn't been a MVP so long actually makes him shine even more here. Gon needs Killua but this is one of the best episodes to show why Killua needs Gon as well. They form the best combo of best friends ever made in Anime history imo.

This is unrelated to the episode and is directed to the moderator of these comments. I wanted to ask prior to the next arc of HxH concerning whether they'll be watching the OPs for each subsequent arc. I find that the main draw of the SOS bros content is the predictions and discussion following the reaction and in the case of the next op and ESPECIALLY the next next op this could cause a problem as they spoil major characters or points of the narrative (especially considering that the bros like to read into things a lot). I don't mind if they do watch every OP but I do thing it would detract from their discussions somewhat as they would have expectations for what they'll see. I watched the OPs for HxH beforehand so it doesn't bother me too much but I'd just like to know if they'll be watching or avoiding the openings for the next arcs.

guys, all the goods of the auction weren't stolen ,just the first days. you two seem to get confused on that.

Princess Paladin

The excitement just keeps building! Great reaction! And yeah, Gon getting mad at the Phantom Troupe for hypocrisy when he's such a hypocrite himself. Recurring theme, go!

Princess Paladin

Not sure if Caleb and Jacob understood this or not, but the stuff for the underground auction that was taken was only what was there for that day of the auction. There's still stuff they hadn't taken.

Jacky Lin

who's ready for next week?

Ian

Next week = best week

Zii

The games are being sold in the legit auction (which hasn't happened yet), not the underground auction, but I don't blame you guys, I was also confused at this point.

Clare

Love it! Can't wait for the next episode now!

It will be difficult to avoid it now. They would have to change the timer again which would be a bother for everyone

FruitsPunchSamurai
>>9702267

yeah some moderators need to clear this up. They also need to tell them that only the items of the first auction day were stolen.

Nathan
>>9701238

Yeah i figured, which is why I dont mind either way but I just thought they should know that one OP in particular is heavy on character spoilers to an absurd degree

Ju Chen

I think the name that references time is Chrono, rather than Chrollo

Ghostnotes

I couldn't possibly be more hype for next week

Clear Lime

I wonder why Phantom Troupe decided to let Gon and Killua go. I thought they would conclude they should kill them.

They could still watch the video from the begining, but turn off the screen / avert their eyes until the music tells them that the opening is finished. The next arc's opening is indeed spoiling not only characters but plot points.

To be honest, I don't think Hisoka would have killed Killua. He would definitely have hurt him and probably almost to the point of perhaps killing him. However, I don't think he would really want Illumi and the other Zoldyks on his back for killing Killua. It would be too much of a pain to deal with... :p

Irenesharda

The root part of his name "Chro" is there, so the implication is that the name "Chrollo" does have some reference to "Chrono" which has a meaning dealing with time.

Irenesharda

One thing also to remember is that while the Zoldyks are a weird, twisted, creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky family. They still ARE a family. Think of why a big brother who has been training his little brother practically since birth, would instill such a belief in him? Especially since we know at the time of the Hunter exams, while Killua, in his childish arrogance thought he knew everything about killing and fighting, Illumi already knew there was this whole other level of abilities in regards to Nen, that Killua had absolutely no idea about and could very probably face in the future. While I love the relationship between Gon and Killua, I also really like the subtle things they bring up about Killua and his relationships with other members of his family, specifically him and Illumi and him and his father.

Yes, Togashi always add some extra fun facts for each volume. If you know more facts about Togashi and his work, you will start to notice a lot more cool/small things they showed in the anime and love it even more!

Erik Ekelund

Two things that are worth pointing out: 1) The underground auction, the one ruled by the mafia, is not the same as the one that Gon and Killua want to assist. 2) At the end of episode 25 Kurapika mentioned that the auction goes from September 1st to 10th, so it lasts 10 days. The goods that were stolen were just the ones that were supposed to be auctioned the first day.

Yeah, and the CA Arc is even worst when it comes to that

>>9704052

Thx! So the journey starts again for me with the manga. I need to discover the new arc anyway :D

Hyperion

Can someone tell me the discord?

sacombankmonkey
>>9704052

Yes, definitely do. Although the art is not that amazing, and there are lots of dialogue, if you are invested in the world of Hunters then you would enjoy it.

Have you seen the entire series yet? Without being specific because that would answer your question.

Irenesharda
>>9704404

Yes, I have seen it through. I've only done so once and some years ago and so some details are hazy, but if what you are talking about is what I THINK you're talking about (ravens?), yes, I know about that.

Garikai

Next episode is hype as shit

Chuck Lurr

How many HXH episodes a month? This is taking so slooowwww

Chuck Lurr

I might pass 2 or 3 months before I come back
