Okay, i just can't believe how much i enjoyed it. I never would've thought that this anime can be this good. Of course, it's only starting, it can get much worse, but for now i love the protagonist.

The conversation with god is even better in the novel. When God complained about the number of humans he came up with the argument that God told us to "go forth and procreate". Not our fault you have issues when we just followed your word, that's just bad management. Also watch the ED next episode, Tanya sings it and it's glorious. The one this episode is actually the opening.

The whole thing with the conscription bit, it was said that after a certain age you get conscripted, but if you sign yourself on you can get right to officer school instead of starting as a grunt mage and working you way up from there.

I think you guys misinterpreted "Being X's" intentions. It didn't put Tanya there just to have them suffer. During the conversation, Tanya said he didn't need God because he was comfortable. "Being X" is hoping to inspire faith by putting him in dire straights.

That or it's the actual devil attempting to create a heretic the likes of which will shake this new world's faith in the true God. People will see the evil girl gaining so much power thru enchanting prayers in God's name and make people think God has created (and is supporting) something evil. I haven't kept up with light novels if they have disproven this yet, this is simply one of several speculations/interpretations.
