Koronator

Edit: *Manga Spoiler* So no Donovan in the anime? In the manga, Guts was sold out by Gambino to be raped by one of the mercenaries, which explains why Guts has an aversion to physical contact by men in the second episode.

Jacob was deliberately not mentioning that since Caleb is going to be reading the manga after this. Please delete your spoiler. Edit: Thanks for making as a spoiler.

Princess Paladin

No. Gambino and his wife are not related to Guts at all. Shisu just took over raising Guts after they found him.

Jcw490

Just for additional context, the relationship and issues between Guts and Gambino is explored in greater depth in the manga, in a way they either could not or just did not choose to do in the anime

Please don't post manga spoilers. Caleb is going to read the manga after he watches the anime. It's not necessary to add this information right now.

Is it a manga spoiler if it already happened in the anime but wasn’t addressed?

Rhiannon

I'd like to thank the people who voted for Berserk. I liked it enough that I went ahead and watched the rest of the episodes and just finished volume 2 of the manga. I can't believe it took me so long to get into this story, I'm enjoying it a lot.

Jax Tharp

I just want Caleb to react to the chorus of "Forces."

Really? Then i have no problems with it ^^ I hope they're gonna make a video about it.

Michael Parks

They never say Gambino is related to guts because he's not.

Ketto_shi

i read the manga, but never saw the anime. this was a lot more tame

@Joshua Castro Yes, it's a manga spoiler. It only happens in the manga and Caleb hasn't seen it yet, MAKING IT A SPOILER FOR THE MANGA. Don't discuss stuff from the manga.

@Willem Dafoe It doesn't matter what you'd call it. It's not you who decides what's a spoiler or not. It's the SoS Bros. And Caleb doesn't want to be spoiled by hearing stuff from the manga. He's going to read it eventually, so we shouldn't be posting or discussing stuff that's only in the manga and not in the anime.

@princess paladin I think they should make that more clear themselves, but in the interest of trying not to ruin it IF that is the case (again, would rather hear it from them or a mod) but I will adjust

Agreed. It’s a lot darker so I get it, but it’s one of the longest running and solid manga’s out there and deserves more popularity/respect (especially in the form of a proper anime follow up, not that 3D abomination we got)

Jaime Ruiz

mhmmmm Gambino was the boyfriend of the girl that found Guts under the corpse tree.
