Kill la Kill is one of the few shows I won't recommend to people. but despite me not liking it I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Hopefully you guys get the twitch channel up and running soon so I can enjoy the Berserk/One Piece read throughs instead. <3

Travis Saar

What subs are they using? Those aren't the Netflix or CR subs. BD maybe?

tsainoah

Overlord died for this FeelsBadMan

tsainoah

Now that Overlord lost, HxH is the only thing I'm excited for, since Jojo is still a long way from Dio

Fun fact: in the English dub, the uniforms are called Goku Uniforms.

not just the english dub, in the official english translation too, but fff's translation is so much better in everyway.

Travis Saar
>>15546471

I like the typesetting just not the "Four Devas" and "Ultima Uniforms" translations.

AardBard
>>15546471

I quite like the translation choices, but to each their own. Tends to just be a matter of familiarity and/or what you saw first anyway.

You've known about this for like three weeks.

WHAT IS THIS SHOW? PLS NO MORE

Shloppy

It would of been so depressing if they had watched the first boring ass episode of Overlord instead of this...

Given their love for D&D references, I have a feeling Overlord would be perfect for them, even if it is a bit overrated. I just caught up with it myself and can't stop watching now. But I don't hate Kill la Kill (I haven't finished it yet) so I'll take it.

I also kinda liked Overlord to win as well, but only the first season. I really liked the first and second season of Overlord, and hated the third season.

SAL
>>15548856

I dunno, Overlord's first episode is a cool introduction as well imo. Though I do agree that Kill la Kill's first episode is probably one of the best ever made so Overlord's pales in comparison and seems really bad when compared to this.

R_K41

The subtitles you're using are hmmm, reminds me of the early AOT subtitles where they called Titans "Eotenas", change it and get the subtitles that has Goku Uniforms instead of "Godrobes"

SuperTallBird
>>15545626

Yeah on twitch, they announced it on their latest unboxing video at the 44 minute mark!

Shloppy
>>15548856

I didn't see what was cool about characters very dryly walking and talking in a very generic setting,I guess there's some groping.

AardBard
>>15549440

Oh please, it's nothing like the silly "Eotens" thing. It's just that Underwater actually translates some of the terms/kanji in the show, whereas CR and such just leave the things in question (Goku, Kamui, etc.) untranslated. You may learn to recognize the untranslated word in the context of the show like that, but doing things the CR way also means that the viewer gets no insight into what the actual meaning of the words (or the kanji in them) can be. The Underwater subs aren't incorrect, it's just a matter of preference. Plus, the Underwater typesetting is far better than anything CR has to offer.

Wow, we are still on this? Talk about sore winners. We get it, you don't like Overlord, no need to shit on a show that many people obviously like, simply because you do not like it.

Bryce Nielsen
>>15548856

Sore winners? There is one person that is commenting about being happy that Overlord lost, while half the comments in general seem to be people complaining that Overlord didn't win. Sore losers seems to be the more common issue here.

Infectedjohn
>>15546738

Both shows are good. They will react to Overlord in the future anyway, very different shows, very different writers. People crying about either show are just the usual trash members of the community.

AardBard
>>15548856

If the bros were depressed at the end of this episode, they had a strange way of showing it, that's for sure!

Jacob

Did you know? Every title of the episode was picked from Japanese pop songs in the past. Most from the 70s. Actually KLK has a lot of Japanese 70~80s culture reference

Silver Bard Games

I tried 3 times to make it through this series, maybe this will be a good excuse to finally finish it.

Robert Martin

SO glad you went with this show! I've seen it before but it's so fast-paced at times that you can miss some important details. it is nice to see a blind reaction to it, and you two are the ones to do it. Thanks.

Sadovari
>>15548856

@Bryce It was more about his shitting on Overlord as a show rather than being happy KLK won. I think the only comment about Overlord losing at the time I wrote my comment was "Overlord died for this FeelsBadMan". Not too bad, but hey, have your opinion.

JelloJelly

You guys need to react to the OVA btw. Its basically the final episode and man oh man is it hype

Hiroyuki Imaishi got started in the anime industry in the 80s, and he packs his shows full of homages

RandomThorn

Even though I was really hoping for Overlord, I don't mind that this won. As long as Overlord gets good representation in the three upcoming polls in 6, 7 and 8 weeks (Due to Your Lie in April, Haikyuu!, and Violet Evergarden approaching their end) then I'll be happy.

Jacob

When Matoi strips of the opponent the talking uniform(Senketsu) says SENISOUSHITSU("Stripped" of the will to fight)[戰維喪失]. But the Character actually means "Stripped" of the 'clothes' to fight. It's a pun because in Japanese, "will to fight(戰意)" and "clothes to fight(戰維)" pronounce the same. But.....there isn't a word called "clothes to fight(戰維)" actually. It's just a word they made up...

RandomThorn
>>15556162

Yeah through it really depends on if it gets on the poll. As much as the themed polls are a neat idea, it can keep popular shows from winning. Also kind of worried Steins;Gate 0 will win over it, I've been meaning to watch it but I would really prefer Overlord at the current point.

AardBard
>>15557377

It's a play on words/kanji that the official translations miss out on, I believe. Just replying here in case I can make the explanation a little clearer: 戦意 = "Sen-i" = "fighting spirit" 繊維 = "Sen-i" = "fiber" They take the second kanji of "fiber" and replace the second kanji of "fighting spirit" with it to make 戦維 (still "sen-i", since the reading of both of the words/kanji are the same). 喪失 = "Soushitsu" = "loss" So, it's "loss of fighting-spirit/fiber".

Kill la Kill is a magical girl show, fight me.

Jaime Ruiz

Not gonna lie, I stoppe watching this show like 5 times while watching it. Or I took breaks, just because it lost my interest.

Zainali

damn u guys are amazing. reading these comments was enough to stop me to try this show... then why recommend it in the first place?

Semblance of Sanity

We got a copyright strike :'(, This show will be timer based from here on out. We've edited the directed video to be a timer-version!

Canadian_Caesar
>>15556162

I'm hoping that they'll eventually do Overlord and Food Wars since they both got a lot of votes in the poll, I can't see them abandoning either show on future polls (Overlord in particular.)

dale cunningham

If you're impressed with the music now, just wait.

Corsynth

How do I watch the same version they're watching?
