For those of you who prefer your streamer discussions in full video format, it is your lucky day.

We will release to the wider YouTube world when we release the episode on the main feed but for now, enjoy your advance access.

"Matt and Chris jump into the world of debates, dramas, and online personas with the ever-controversial streamer, Destiny (Steven Bonnell). We discuss our Decoding episode (a little bit) but mostly broader issues including the value of 'debate porn', the role of edginess & Twitter bomb-throwing, reality TV orbiter drama, and the perils of hero worship and parasocial relationships.

We also discuss various 'hot-button' issues including Destiny's involvement in Israel-Palestine discourse, the ethics of engaging with extremists, and whether Destiny genuinely was arguing for the right to murder the DDoS kid. Finally, we wrap up with some conversation on media literacy, the challenges of navigating online discourse, and strategies for laypeople to better engage with research."

If you see any significant video issues let us know and we will try to fix before releasing to the masses.

Destiny’s assertion that those who have ‘truth’, ‘rationality’, ‘veritas’, in the bio, they are the Most partisan, etc. So brilliant that it’s obvious in hindsight. It’s like the dodgy butcher which has a big sign outside for its ‘Quality Meats’

I do enjoy how you sneakily sped Destiny's replies up to x3 speed. Learning the lessons from the Harris episodes. PS: Idk about everyone else, but whenever I submit an academic article the haters *really* come out of the wood work. They're all 'this isn't Chicago' and 'you should read the recent literature' and 'Hegel didn't write in French', blablabla.

Erm 🫤 the date-rape metaphor. It was obviously wide of the mark if one stopped to think for half a second, but wait, he can’t, can he?
