Our final (slightly belated) holiday special, in which Chris is joined by Editor Andy and “Bad Stats” Dan for a festive quiz. Unfortunately, Matthew Browne (Senior Decoder) was unavailable, but Editor Andy heroically stepped in as his stand-in champion. Listening to this, I have gathered that Andy is a Canuck. The way he said “about” tipped me off. Canadian accents are cute. Also, there was one video game sampler song that Andy used a couple times that I really liked. I always wondered where it came from.

For the record, I can inform Dan that he is not the only person who hate-listens to every episode of Darkhorse. This morning I made the mistake of accidentally playing it on both my headphones and the living room Sonos speaker. After half an hour my wife came upstairs and said, “What the fuck are you listening to? At first I thought I was listening to something worthwhile because the people sounded intelligent and reasonable. But then I realized they were just saying increasingly crazy shit in calm voices.”

Enjoyed this very much. It took me back to the old days when DtG was just pure fun, being amazed by the guru’s most wacky behaviors; before it started overlapping with US politics so much. Will a video version of this be released?

“Stefan Molinew’s book explains syllogism, and validness and soundness, but gets them exactly backwards”. In the mid 20th century the definitions of validity and soundness basically swapped. So it’s possible that Steven was relying on an antiquated logic text for reference. Which doesn’t detract from the fact he’s an imbecile.

Fun episode! Andy had solid guesses, but Chris' hatewatching is unmatched. The confidence with which these gurus state absurd theories outside of their sphere of expertise will never cease to boggle my mind. They're such clowns.
