Unfortunately due to time of recording there is no Matt but hopefully some of you still find this informative.

Elgen is a second generation (ex-)member of the Unification Church (the Moonies).

We discuss the recent shooting in Japan and how it relates to the Unification Church's activities in Japan and broader afield.

Yeah. I hadn't fully thought through the whole Japanese/Korean relationship background to the Abe/Moonie link until listening to this. I certainly wasn't aware that Japanese members had to pay double or triple to atone for war guilt against the Koreans. Thinking of Yamagami sat there, watching Abe on TV coming out of Yasukuni, calling comfort women whores who protest too much and denying the very idea of war guilt, while knowing that the family funds had gone to fund his campaign, via Unification Church support... I could see how that could be a wind up, alright

Martin Pelchat

This was very enlightening, thanks! Before this interview, I had no clue there was a link between the Abe assassination and the Unification Church.
