Here's the newest upload on the ONLY in JAPAN Main Channel. It was in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for their TamaShima push to get people outside the city center. We had a lot of synergy to do this despite a few compromises LOL in the end, we love videos showing the lesser known areas and this is one so leave me a comment, leave us (Kanae and Leo too) a comment on YouTube and THANK YOU for supporting the series! I had intended this to come out at the end of February and will be keeping at least 2 per month so get ready for more OiJ main channel docutainment!

99% of Tourists NEVER visit here | Far West Tokyo Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN

Imagine visiting the 1% of Tokyo that Tourists never visit! Tokyo is not just a city, it's a metropolitan area, like a state, one of Japan's 47 prefectures and has mountains in its not-so-far TAMA region. We rented a car in Tokyo, drove 90 minutes West to Mitake and Okutama where international visitors miss out on. It's the side of Japan you are looking for to avoid the crowds and experience Japanese culture within Tokyo. * 20M+ international tourists visited Tokyo in 2024. Okutama & Mitake towns in the far western Tama region had an estimated 50,000 - 100,000 annual visitors from abroad. Accommodation: Shukubo Komadori Sanso Stay 宿泊:宿坊「駒鳥山荘」 Fishing: Hikawa International Trout Fishing Center (Okutama) Nippara Limestone Caves Wasabi Tour Experience Sake Tasting: Ozawa Brewery Food: Kamameshi Nakai (Kamameshi Hot Pot) Komodori Baiten Restaurant & Souvenir Shop 駒鳥 売店 Getting to JR Mitake Station: Train: 950 Yen / 90 Minutes You can catch the JR Chuo Line from Shinjuku to Tachikawa and change to the Ome Line. In general, it takes 90 minutes, but there are rapids and express trains, some that go straight through Tachikawa from Shinjuku. Rental Car: From Shinjuku IC, it takes approximately 90 minutes to drive to Mitake Station via Expressway #4 to Hinode IC. 1,710 Yen with an ETC card. This video is sponsored by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau. #onlyinjapan #tokyo
