A5 Wagyu Steak Home Cooked | Hitachi Beef

Today we’ll home cook an A5 Hitachi Beef Sirloin Steak half cut. It’s 202g and cost ¥3,179 ($30) from a wholesaler near the Wagyu processing plant in Ibaraki. It doesn’t get fresher than this! I also have an A5 Wagyu Burger from Hitachi to cook up. HITACHI BEEF is the Wagyu from Ibaraki Prefecture, about an hour north of Tokyo. It’s famous for its produce and also — beef.

That was a lot of fun, and it was so nice to see Kanae. Pleased to see she's feeling better.

XD great a food video and i have the stomach flu XD. I had Japanese beef (last year) it was really good but i like Lamb, mutton and goat much more (but that's just me *lol*). Have a great day everyone.

ONLY in JAPAN

Aussie Beef sponsored some events with me to get beef to people in Tohoku after 3/2011. I remember they gave me a crate of 500g steaks! They were outstanding! The guy in charge in Japan gave me grape fed cattle beef once. It was unbelievable!

Great segment!! Also good to see that Kanae is feeling better! Japanese wagyu is way higher quality and taste than American wagyu. In addition, the local (LA) Japanese market hosts "Food Fairs" with products from different prefectures. Last month, "Wagyu from Japan" (from a company called, "Zen-Noh") was featured. It was $100 USD per pound (!) and tasted pretty good but not as good as the wagyu I've eaten in Japan. Your cooking made my mouth water! I'm not a big meat eater but Japanese wagyu is AMAZING!!! Super oishii!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!!!

Hi John, Hitachi is the sister city to my city (Tauranga, New Zealand) so it was already on my list of places to visit for that reason. After seeing your live stream I'd really like to try some Hitachi A5 wagyu. Can you recommend any places to eat it in Hitachi?

I’m loving this new cooking livestream!!! Lovely to see kanae enjoying wagyu;) also love the wagyu cap, poster and packet tissue😆😂🤣😂🤣 John are you serious putting the poster in your bedroom?? I’d have a nightmare waking up with severe indigestion if I did although i’d love to the poster in the dining room... 👍👍👍🤩
