Tokyo’s Robot Town

Comments

Sage hellohi821

It is interesting how the U.S. and Japan seem to have different attitudes toward robots and AI. The U.S. seems to have a long-standing suspicion of robots and AI, which can be easily seen in popular movies where robots or AI are villains bent on exterminating or enslaving humanity (Terminator, The Matrix, etc). Many of the comments in the chat room during the live stream reflected this, also. Japan seems to have a much more positive and less suspicious attitude toward the same things.

Japan depicts robots as helpers. The US and its manufacturing industry have a long way to get to that level. It there, but not quite there yet.
