Loved Garmisch! I think you're right, I'd love to travel the smaller towns and go to the smaller local Christkindlesmarkt and maybe do just Nürnberg. So much more relaxed to graze all the goodies day after day until finally Santa comes & we have to go back on our diets! :-) How did the meetup go in Innsbruck?
