Tohoku Earthquake & Tsunami Story | Kesennuma Interview

This port town was de aster by the earthquake and tsunami that followed in March 11, 2011. Ahead of the 10th year, I’ve come to talk with locals. Where is Kesennuma? I hope this is a preview to the construction of a main channel episode. It was very sobering to hear a firsthand account of the days after the event. What received the most focus/airplay outside of Japan (at least in the US) was just the event of the waves rolling in. What happened in the immediate afterward was not given much attention. With a solemn anniversary coming up, this can show people another side of the story that is seldom represented in the standard media. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will be visiting Miyagi next year, and it helps to learn about something that affected the people there like this.
