Greg asking what 'innocuous' words will be not accepted in future is pretty telling. It wasn't an innocuous word. It was used to viciously make fun of disabled people. What he's actually asking is who are we making fun of now that society will have empathy for in future.

I mean, so did I (joined for God Loves You Mark), but honestly as long as my money here goes to support the boys and possibly to Grouse House/Haven't You Done Well ventures, I will be happy. Love me some MUGG and Trope RPG. I hope they can keep the ball rolling - the lack of door on the latest season of MUGG has me worried, I love all the stuff these guys do. Maybe Michael Shanks can toss them a bone.

The aunty Donna World Cup ep (which was a really fucked ep to start with what with it being entirely based on referencing characters I didn’t know) If the boys decide to call it a day I’ll be gutted but they’ve bloody earned it! 🫡 Plus we’ll still have the reunion in 10 years after Zach and Broden’s full recovery from cocaine rehab and Mark is still dead

Zoomer take. It wasn’t a vicious word at all, for a very long time. It was brought in as a neutral/medical term to replace a whole slew of localized and, at the time considered problematic, terms, to unify a (medical) discourse about disabled people that was becoming more and more important. It quite some time later was adapted by others for insulting purposes (as a convenient shorthand, again replacing many other terms), and then we decided to beginn the process of abandoning it, which is now almost complete. It didn’t appear in language as an insult; in fact, few insults do. You are very likely, right now, using words entirely innocently that future generations will consider extremely offensive. For example, I called you a ‘zoomer’ in the first sentence. It’s very likely that this word, which today is one of mild mockery at best and often used by zoomers themselves, will become an offensive slur not too far in the future.

What an awful way to end the year, sincerely hoping that Broden is/gets better because that sounds absolutely horrible. The tour was amazing boys, absolutely love it. I think I can speak on behalf of the rest of the fanbase when I say we absolutely love the work you guys do and seriously take off as much time as you need to be well (not that you need our permission but still). Also the SPEED with which Mark went straight to Professor X, surely that’s eligible for the Best of 2026, right?
