Well as ex-royalty, I'd imagine there's no cultural deterrence, since marrying other royalty could anticipate them having concubine to produce more heirs for their own kingdom (for example, she dated Tom while he was prince of the Underworld). There's the reality that men desire sex far more, and thus it is women that control access to sex.
