April vs Lacey! Lacey was always one of my favorite opponents. We were in a tournament in Germany for this one. Marburg, Germany.

Fun fact: Any city with the name -burg- has a castle there! (Castles are called "Schoss/SchloB"...except that "B" isin't a B, it's a slightly different symbol that are two ss's together.) And I certainly went. Also, it's always at THE HIGHEST POINT (makes sense) but fuck...it was a hike. Worth it, though.

The armor from back in the 1500's was tiny. Same size as Lacey or smaller. And the intricacy for the doors, furniture, ceilings, columns, architecture...everything...amazing. (Another fun fact: Viking runes are built into Germanic architecture for good luck.)

Beauty wasn't just for the castles, it was everywhere. We have such "uglification" now. More machines, easier to construct...shittier designs. The roads and buildings that were made by hand and have survived centuries. Our modern roads and buildings collapse every year under snow plows and storms? What the shit.

Our evolution is actually DE-evolution in many ways...from blocky "everything looks the same" design and cheap craftsmanship to losing our psychic abilities.The towns that are the prettiest build sidewalks AROUND the trees. They don't REMOVE them. It's a little thing...but it's also a big thing.

There's a reason cars all look like boxey now and lack color...they're white, silver or black now instead of the brightly colored, curvy beauties they used to be.

Ugly drops our morality. (IE: gray communist block structures.)
