Countdown til Halloween POD#4: Scarlet Witch! (Patreon)

I think Disney has done more for the concept of witches than anyone else. It's said that upwards of 60,000 women (and a few men) were executed as witches during that dark time in history (with many historians claiming that this number was vastly underreported), where anyone could label their neighbor's wife "a witch" if their livestock suddenly died after having a neighbor dispute. Most who died were healers and medics. I mean, there may have been a witch or three in the lot, but it was largely a horrific and ignorant time in history that was grossly mishandled, then covered up with lies and deception. (Covid, anyone?) Shockingly, the public sided with the executioners/government/rulers and not their own people.

However, Disney, the Wizard of Oz, Samantha, Narnia and others have given us fun, magical witches to erase some of the stigma that could be leftover. So, grab a broomstick (cinnamon scented!) and light a black flame candle. Let's see what happens!
