Bonus Countdown til #Halloween POD: Happy #DayOfTheDead !
“Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them.”
Like Samhain (pronounced "sow-wahn") in Ireland, Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead is an ancient tradition dating back 3000 years falling on the first days of November where the dead are honored. It's understood that when their eyes close in this life, they're opened to the next chapter...and when the veil is the thinnest between the two worlds, their spirits can come back to visit. That time of year is between the end of October and now. It's a celebration of their life, not a sad event. So, put up some photos of your loved ones and maybe you'll feel their presence. :) We honor the dead not with grief, but with gratitude. Xo!
