Hello friends!
I hope you're doing really well! Sorry this newsletter is a little late, it's been a bit of a hectic weekend! I've been working extra over the Easter long weekend, which has been really fun!
And Matt and Dave had massive weekends too, with the first (and maybe only) live shows of Book Cheat and Prime Mates! A bunch of you went along, and no doubt had a fantastic time!
Thanks heaps to everyone who came to our second live show as well, we had a lot of fun. It was very silly and loose, and that's when we're at our best!
I've been really busy for the last couple of weeks, so I'm planning to have what we like to call a "piece of shit day" tomorrow. The aim is to be as unproductive as possible. I'm very much looking forward to it!
Now let's see what Dumb and Dumber are up to (meowwwww)
Matt:
"Hey mates! I don't have much to report at all apart from the fact the comedy festival is about halfway through.
I've done 10 of my 22 solo shows, 2 of the four do go ons and the one and only prime mates!
I was really happy with how prime mates went and think it will come up well as a podcast episode for those of you who didn't make it! Will hopefully have it out in the next week or so...
Comedy heroes/past dgo guests Andy Matthews and Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall start their show today, you should go check that out if you're in town - it's called Teleport... Gonna be real good!
Hope you're all well, cheers -Matt"
Dave:
"Hey Pah-Trons!
Just wanted to say a massive massive thank you to anyone who came to Book Cheat (and of course Prime Mates and Do Go On) yesterday.
I'll have to admit I was a bit nervous before going onstage for BC, having never done a live one before. But the audience were great and I had an absolute ball. I guess it also probably had something to do with my guests being true absolute greats Michelle Brasier and Ben Russell. They are both so funny and were on from the get go.
We did Pygmalion, the play by George Bernard Shaw that was later the basis for the musical My Fair Lady. I was hoping for a bit of accent work from Ben and Michelle and they did not disappoint!
Looking forward to putting that out as a podcast this week.
That's all from the Book Chook.
BOOKS FOREVER!"
So, a very big weekend from the Do Go On Crew. We've got our third live show next weekend, AND I'm getting to do a live show with Triple J as part of the comedy festival too on Saturday, which will be really fun. It's a wonderful (and exhausting) time of year!
Take care, be nice, and wash your butt!
