EDIT: IT'S NOT HAPPENING

Hello beautiful Patreon people,

Dave here with an update on our (hopeful) US tour!

We have officially applied for a working visa to come over. The whole process has been quite complicated and involved a tour company (helmed by a legend named Thom), as well as an immigration lawyer, many forms and documents… and has taken a little bit longer than we expected. We're still not 100% sure when we'll hear back about it.

The dates we have proposed to come over are in October 2023. In just over two months. Which is coming up super fast!

So we just wanted to give you all a heads up with as much notice as possible, so you can put them in your calendar and make tentative plans. We’ve tried to have the shows be on the weekends, or at least in the later half of the week, to make travelling a bit easier if needed.

Sadly we can’t get everywhere we would have liked due to time constraints, and a special apology to Canadian listeners - we were told that leaving the USA to visit Canada and then re entering would make it even more complicated. But we have specifically chosen two US cities (Seattle and Buffalo) that are at least close-ish to the border, and we hope some of you can still make it down to meet us.

We chose these cities based on the Patreon survey I posted a couple of months back as well as our download data that tells us where people are listening.

THE PROPOSED DATES AND CITIES:

- Friday October 13, SEATTLE, WA - The Carco Theatre

- Sunday, October 15, LONG BEACH, CA - Laugh Factory

- Thursday, October 19, DALLAS, TX - Hyena’s Comedy Club

- Saturday, October 21, DENVER, CO*
(*NOTE: This one is unconfirmed and most likely to change as getting a venue has been very difficult. We want to see Blucifer but might have to find a different city. We’re really working hard on it!)

- Sunday, October 22, CHICAGO, IL - Laugh Factory

- Thursday, October 26, BUFFALO, NY - Helium Comedy Club

- Saturday, October 28, NEW YORK CITY, NY - *Venue TBC, could possibly change to Sunday October 29. Again venue has been a bit harder than other places.

So that’s the plan so far! I need to post a huge disclaimer and say there is still a possibility that the visa will be denied, and then we won’t be able to come over at all. But like I said, it’s taken a bit longer than expected and we’re worried that we’ll run out of time to promote the tour.

So we wanted to keep you, our fantastic supporters, fully in the loop.

I’ll also say, we’d love to add some Who Knew It with Matt Stewart and Book Cheat live pods too. Possibly on the same night, but we will only do that if we fill up these Do Go On shows. We really hope people come haha.

I know some of you will be disappointed that we aren’t coming to your city or town. But hopefully we are coming close to many of you and you can meet us halfway!

We’ll also hopefully have the even better news that it’s all been approved soon. You’ll all be the first to know either way.

Let us know in the comments which of the places we might see you! (and any good spots for pies haha)

Thank you for the support and we hope to see you in the US of A.

I literally squealed with glee at this. I'll be in NYC whenever you are.

William Hale

Oh god please come to Denver.

Jesse Wheeler

I'll definitely be at the Seattle show!

Nathan

Oh man, I live a few minutes walk from the Chicago venue!! Fingers crossed you can make it! I know I'll be getting tickets the second they go live if you can.

Janet C

NYC is the closest to me so fingers crossed for the venue!

Emelie Litwin

Epic block! So jelous! When are you coming to Sweden? 😉 Maybe a Scandinavian tour during Christmas and watch the Gävle goat burn? 😇

Gary Jay

If I could I’d drive to them all. I hope all you American mates have the best time. Live shows are “like totally” worth it. Don’t forget your water.

Elijah Jimerson

I live in Buffalo and I will absolutely be there and will bring every friend I possibly can, thank youuuuuu!! Also, how good is it to be alive?

Jessica and Steven Gruber

I will skip my hockey game and be late to my Girl Scout event for the Seattle date! No hesitation

Katie McCracken

NY is the closest for me, hoping it works out!

Dennis Austin

I live half-way between Buffalo and Toronto and your Canadian consideration is very much appreciated! Hope to make it across the border

Alyssa

So happy to see Southern California on the list. If you can make it, I’ll see you in Long Beach!

Sara Rayfield

I have a logistics question - are y'all planning on flying between states or driving? Because Denver to Chicago is at least a 15 hour drive and doing those cities back to back would be tricky by car, even with Jess' amazing driving. Regardless, see you in Chicago!

Brandon Wang

So very exciting but fully acknowledging the fact that this may not happen at all. I'm personally hoping the NYC date gets moved to Sunday but whatever works out best for y'all!

Kirk Reitmeier

Any idea when we’ll get to know when the visa is a lock? I would love to go to the Seattle show!

dogoonpod

Definitely flying that bit! (Well Matt and I will. Jess will of course drive in a matter of minutes)

Phill Bourgeois

I'm halfway between Chicago and Buffalo. Too far to do both in my crap car but I should be at one of them.

Omer Sharon

But where's Gary, Indiana?

Mandy Kurz

Yesssss! Thank you for coming to Buffalo! You will see me and my boyfriend(who I made begrudgingly listen to your Pod and is now loving it!)

Sev

this is so exciting! it's a six hour drive for me but i'll still come to the Buffalo show if everything works out

Joanna Woerner

Thanks for not giving up despite the red tape! See you in Chicago!!!

Joe Haslam

This is amazing news (even though I'm in the UK)! So happy you've got this sorted!

Tamara Potts

Super excited for you! What an awesome tour! Can I ask (as someone who may have this issue in the future) - why was a working visa for the US so hard to get? Do you always need a lawyer to get one, or was there something specific you’re doing that’s causing all the problems? Massive congrats in advance for your visa approval!

Lydia Valentine

Denver oh pretty please! only.....6 hours away. and what about pie-sized donuts?

Christine Walk

Woohoo!! I’m sorry our country is such a pain in the ass for foreigners. Please feel free to come to DC to shake your fist and yell at Congress on the Mall. Public airing of grievances is a national pastime 😃

Jason Woessner

I've also promised some people I would bring some baked goods, so if there's anything you three would like, just let me know!

Katharine Conrad

I'll be at the Seattle show! (Looks like the venue's actually in Renton, right? Cool with me - it's about 20 minutes closer. 🙂)

Ryan Norskog

Super stoked to see Seattle on the proposed list!

Roshni Ray

Seattle or Dallas! so excited!

Erica Paradis

Not gonna lie, I'm super bummed you can't make it to Canada. Unfortunately I can't make it to any of those locations, but you will have such an epically amazing time!! Can't wait to listen!

Tom Henry

NYC the day before my first child’s baby shower. Can I make it to the show and back in time to help my wife set up the next morning?? Stay tuned…lolol

Jessica Tittle

😝 So excited!🍻I hope I can go! 🥧

Liran Bromberg

I hope that NYC venue is large enough...that's your only show in the NE Megalopolis so everybody from Boston to DC will be going to that one.

Ecy Hughes

Seattle!!! Hubs and I are going to drive up from Portland and make a weekend of it.

Jordan Hayden

Please, Blucifer, let the Denver show happen!

Heather

Seattle will work for me, yay!

Leah Freel

I'll drive to Long Beach from San Diego! Sunday is the perfect day of the week for me!

Meagan

chicago!!!!

TheCeeThree

Chicago! Short Drive from West Michigan so count us in!

Jared Weber

Now I’m sitting here wondering whether making a six-hour drive to Chicago to see a live podcast is worth it

Michael Driscoll

This is great news!!! I hope the visa gets approved and I will be at the NY show for sure!! I wonder if this would be a Halloween episode and we should dress up? 🤔

Bryan Dennis Flores

Long Beach in the house!!! Can’t wait to come see you guys! So excited

Libby Mason

I haven’t been on a plane in 19 years, but LESSSS GOOOOO💥 I’ve never been to Chicago, what a good opportunity!

Hallie Landy

Hoping to fly from Florida to Dallas where my brother lives or NY where my parents live to see you guys!

Keith Barnes

I will absolutely drive from Sacramento to Long Beach!

dogoonpod

There's heaps of different types of visas, ours is an P-1 Visa for 'Internationally Recognized Athletes Entertainers'. We basically have to prove that we are significant enough to get the visa. They ask if you've won any awards and they literally say "for example a Nobel prize or an Academy Award." Haha, we have not... yet. So through documents, stats and evidence of performing other tours overseas hopefully we've proved that we are worthy enough the get the green light. We also had to have a specific tour and company that we're working with, and have locked in dates before we could apply for the visa. And our guy Thom recommended that using an immigration lawyer, although expensive, will make the whole process easier. I hope that helps!

Mila Jameson

The Laugh Factory in Chicago is 18+ 😭 my kids are crushed

Talya Kruse

I'm so excited! I know someone I can stay with in Wisconsin and get a train from there. It will definitely all work out. It must.

Cami Jamison

The guardians of Warneke the cat will be in attendance NO MATTER THE COST.

Shelby

Praying that nyc does not sell out before I can secure one ticket!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out well for your first US tour

QJK-

I see no reason not to burn some PTO days and hit Buffalo and NYC! My GF and I have been planning the logistics since your email came through. Literally been waiting for this for years. Safe travels DoGooners!

Andrew Hutchinson

Going to try to make it to Chicago but it’s a long drive from Missouri. If you travel through it for some reason — come to Columbia!

Joe Renckly

Sweet! No Kraken game that night either. See you in Seattle!

Sarah Tardiff

It looks like I’ll be driving the 7 hours on a weeknight to see you in Buffalo! I won’t be okay if I miss you.

John Wick

Minneapolis/St. Paul (The Twins Cities) is very anxious for you to show up. We stand by and stand up with you to get you there also!

mckay

Will you recognize Missouri?

Alison B

Can barely afford housing in Toronto rn, so an international trip is out of the question. Can't wait to hear the eps though. Have a safe and exciting tour ☺️

Talya Kruse

Sorry <3 I hope things get better for you. It's wild how expensive it is. *sending you luck*

Dina Gottesman

I so hope the NYC show works out for Saturday the 28th!! The 29th would be tough. Will be traveling up from Virginia & staying with my NYC friend who I’ve now introduced to the pod who’s excited to come along 😊

Brian Colella

Incredible news! If it all works out, you know I'll be there. Let me know if you need a ride between cities :D

Alex

But… Atlanta 🥺👉🏼👈🏼 ?

Ben Ogier

Chicago was the closest I could realistically hope for so I’m quite pleased

Tabetha Post

I will definitely come from Toronto to Buffalo

Matt Lineker

I’ll come down to Seattle from Canada!!

Jordan Gage

Aaahhhhh!! Can’t wait to see both shows in New York!

Paul Jacob

How about ATL or DC. Didn’t think we’d get one in North Carolina but somewhere closer. I guess see you in NY!

dogoonpod

sorry Paul! We're going to the places with the most listeners, hopefully we'll get more listeners in those places before next time!

Just James

I just realized that puts you in the states during the Eclipse!

Craig & Becca Cousins

We’ll be at the Long Beach show for sure! Is it bad if we’re rescheduling our kid’s birthday party for this?

Kirk Reitmeier

Looking forward to getting down to the Seattle show!! Just keeping an ear out to hear that tickets are going on sale!!

Emy White

If Denver doesn’t work and you need help looking for places in NM let me know. I’ll go knocking on doors, shake some babies, kiss some hands.

Joe Renckly

Anyone know if this is still happening? Im a month behind on the podcast and haven’t heard anything about tickets going on sale. Hope I don’t miss the Seattle show.

dogoonpod

We're afraid not Joe, still haven't got visa approval! Hopefully will come through and we can try some new dates
