Orcus - Day 16: Heckor's Expressions Part. 1 (Patreon)
Content
Heckor emoting in his very dumb very cocky way. As I said, I want to make a Visual Novel out of this, and I need different poses for each character. That's already triple the effort your average VN puts into character expressions. And the second reason why I tend to don't like VNs: the stinginess in character sprites. Most of the time are permutations of the same figure but with different expressions painted on their faces, that favor complex and highly rendered designs over the characters having somewhat of a body language. I'm Italian, and body language is an essential part of our communication.(I guess because we have hundreds of dialects and before cinema, TV, and radio started to spread a Tuscan derivate as the official language, gesturing was the only way to effectively communicate between a guy from Venice and one from Naples.)If the Little Mermaid was Italian, she would have explained via gestures the entire affair of voice in exchange for legs the same afternoon that the Prince retrieved her. For us if somebody doesn't move their arms like a theater actor while they speak, that means they're very posh or have something to hide, and that's something I don't want to experience while playing a VN.So yeah, enjoy this exaggerated and cartoonish poses!
