Orcus, Day 21: The Demon of Prayers. (Patreon)

A rather angelic-looking demon. They roam the Earth listening for people asking for a quick trespass of their deceased and turning them in the chained tablets you see. They're something like the currency of the Underworld. This should have been a low-effort doodle, but I got enthralled by the perspective of rendering the nature of demons in a more effective way: these biblical angel attributes show pretty well that my demons are morally neutral creatures, and also that they aren't quite individuals, each entity is spread across various emanations. In this case, many eyes and ears to listen to the various believers bartering about the trespassing of their loved ones. It's a jacked-up worldbuilding, where prayers aren't expressions of honest faith but bargaining chips, but I'm catholic, guys. That's exactly how our "worldbuilding" works, especially in the southern parts of Italy. All catholic theologists and priests may deny that with a passion but Catholicism is just Paganism with a different coat of paint. We don't have gods but we have saints, we don't have the Earth Goddes but we have Holy Mary. And we pray to them with an absolutely transactional mindset.
