I don't think that's the problem- he's waking up now (in more ways than one) and probably thinks it's a good idea to talk about what's happening before things go too far. Max can't read Alex's mind like we can, so it must be super jarring for him to have a guy he likes (but thought was SUPER straight) come onto him, even if he's enjoying himself...
